Thread: About DMM game closures on nutaku and opinions on kamihime's situation

Well, title says it all. I've been happily playing aigis at both dmm and nutaku till one day we received that awful news notice. Me and many people abandoned from playing games on nutaku, went fully on dmm, some returned after their rage soothed. As for myself i've settled for good at dmm side too but, gameplay and stuff was always better at dmm anyway but not understanding the story is still a big impact, playing the events and watching scenes without understanding whats going on (lul). Tho aigis at least still has its petite who translates most stuff anyway but i couldnt find the same solution for kamihime.

I wanted to come back but after what happened (over and over for other games too) i just cant trust nutaku especially to its dmm games, you spend money and more importantly your precious time but all gone after a single news of a closure... Just want to know what nutaku kh people thinking about the matter and another important question i want to ask is...

Do you play the game with your heart's content?

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but if I interpret your question correctly...

Sure, I do enjoy the game, but not to the point that I'll beat myself up if they decide to scrap the game. It's just a game, life moves on.

That said, I do doubt that nutaku would scrap the game as it is now, I've heard that the player base is pretty big. In the future though... well that's inevitable of all games.

All who play the browser game shovelware on Nutaku know that games could be terminated at any time for any reason, regardless of how much money and time you've sunk into them. That's why you stick to popular games that are less likely to get an early axe. Given the neglect that Aigis suffered throughout its lifespan on Nutaku, it should be no surprise that it met an early end (despite its popularity).

As for KamiPro, you bet I'd be angry if they closed this game down while I was still active. Whether I'd migrate to DMM is an open question, since I know Japanese and could use the same tools I used to read Himegari. I'm not really keen to pay-to-play JP browser games though, especially if the English community disintegrated or was non-existent.

If aigis (which was by far the best game nutaku had) could be closed so easily , there is no guarantee that they won't do the same with any other game.

As for going on DMM , it's all moonrunes to me , so i can#t play a game while constantly looking for translation. If you have the same issue , play on nutaku without investing anything in it , and don't get high hopes for the games either

I've only spent about 80$ on this game, 50$ on the miracle ticket and a 30$ on a guaranteed SSR. I've been enjoying this game for almost a year. Video games these days rarely make it past a month before they get dull for a similar price, or more with all the DLC crap you get these days. You could say this game has been saving me money from not buying other games as I'm often too occupied with this game's weekly events.

Kamihime will close eventually, there is no doubt about that. It's simply a matter of when. Hopefully not out of nowhere like Aigis was.

As for me, I do enjoy it. I also invest some money in it & to be honest, if it closes down, it closes down. To me, online gaming is a way to kill time when I somehow got more than usual free time on hand. This is the first time I actually invested money as well in online gaming, but while I would probably be grumpy if it closes down, I wouldn't regret it, as I had fun with it so far & it doesn't seem to change anytime soon.

I just hope we will be able to stop ragnarok before the closure.

You dont really look constantly for translations, just join discord with other people, game is fun more fun like that anyway. Also you look at wiki even at english games. If you really like the game, the language shouldnt be really a barrier, which is even translated already anyway.

I actually really decided to learn japanese, but no easy to find source to learn it on the internet. If anyone is willing to help me on this matter feel free to pm ^^ a 3rd language is always better than 2.

People give Nutaku way to much credit for the way Aigis turned out. The majority of the problem from the very start was the shitty DMM devs they assigned to work on the game. It had been waning in popularity way before DMM pulled support, and the root of the problem was how the community was treated by them. It was almost never on the front page.

Meanwhile Kamihime has what seems like a pretty good dev team and is constantly in the top 3 on the front page. I doubt it goes anywhere anytime soon unless something very unforeseen happens.

That being said, the nature of online games in general is to not last forever. Even AAA games all die eventually. If it makes you uncomfortable not knowing how long the content you pay for will be available to you then I wouldn't suggest spending money. For myself, I've gotten much more enjoyment and playtime out of this game than the vast majority of the other games I own so I definitely don't mind dropping money every now and again to support it.
