Whats a good element to start off as a new player. I was thinking dark but im not sure. (i just realized there was a questions thread my bad)

No element is too bad to start off with really. Water relies heavily on debuffs now, fire and thunder are nukers, wind is rapid burst heavy, light is a very defensive build currently, and dark is rather balanced, as far as I can tell. Choose according to your preferred play style.
