A very crude recommendation, but if you find yourself struggling with even standard advent, the first priority will be to level up your girls and your weapons to a point that you can in the main quests. Afterwards, apply what Dunhere said, and try to snipe at least an SSR weapon/ eidolon out of the event.

Edit: Also, ignore the Sakura x Mio. I sold her instantly when I got her, but now that I checked, her base stats are really ass. Try to get your hands on the light weapon instead, you should have the time to grind enough levels to be able to touch the standard/ normal stages, since we still have pretty much 3 weeks to go.
