Keep in mind that Phoenix/Apocalypse reprint was still using the original rates, not the revision that came with Ixion, despite running after Ixion. So that extra copy wasn't for 100/75/60 mats. It was for the 120/90/70 rate.
The revision that came with Ixion of course isn't anywhere near as drastic as the Illuyanka event change, but it was still noticable at the time. Original rate was 455/255/215 to max the eidolon and 285/205/145 to max the weapon. From Ixion up until right before Illuyanka it'd be 375/210/150 for the eidolon and 260/165/125 for the weapon.

Phoenix/Apocalypse was also early enough that I still couldn't reliably farm ultimate yet. IIRC, from that reprint, I only moved up from 1* Phoenix Bow and Apoc Lance to 2*. Probably bumped the eidolons up 1* each as well. This was early enough for us such that even DMM was still pre-Guild Order, so we didn't have the knowledge to set up weapons for FLBing later.

Thanks all. I understand if people played previous phoenix event and get the bow. but some people got two just from the current event alone?

Those people will also have a lot of HE stocked up that allows them to farm that much.

You should keep in mind that some people may not have finished a weapon during the last reprint and so used this event to get the copies that they needed. That might be what you are referring to. It's a lot easier to finish a bow with 1 or 2 copies than to farm 4 copies from scratch.

Man I have to ask, how the hell do you get so many Half Elixers from gacha consistently

I'm pretty sure I average about 10 a day from the 100 pulls...

Is there some other source or devil sorcery you guys are using

10 HEs per 100 pulls seems normal for the 1% drop rate.

The sorcery we use is this thing called ranking up. The higher your AP cap the more you get out of HEs per gem quest. Or you have someone who plays purely on passive AP gen and stocked like 1k HEs or something.

Or eido shop, but that's not recommended.

220 half elixirs in at 53 AP each, entered with 7 gold mats and now currently at 1100+, and still no phoenix bow drop. Heck, I've only seen 3 rainbow chests drop in ult (all SR fodder). 3 chests dropped from ragnarok as well, but those were all just cores. I think that I've hit the stage of acceptance that I won't get that bow to drop. But eh, I suppose that I'll keep guzzling HEs today out of principle.

I got an Ixion's sword and Horus eido drop effortlessly so I thought If I grind a bit an extra mlb bow wouldn't be a problem but I was so wrong

And tonight's update is...
I forced down another 80 half elixirs, bringing the total consumed for this event to a nice, round 300. Honestly, at some point today, the quest for the bow devolved into the quest to hit 300 HEs used. Got 1500+ gold mats. After buying everything in the shop except for enhance mats, I've still 1100 gold mats and 1800 silver mats.
1 rainbow chest dropped today at about... 1.5 hours away from event end. It was the damn hammer. 'tis a nice gesture there, RNG. Almost perfect, even. Now if that dropped on my last run of this event, then it'd have been the perfect middle finger.

Ah well. It's a setback for sure, but not quite a permanent one yet. I'll just have to use the first 10k tower medals I get on a weapon brick to use on this 2nd bow. That ought to take me 2 or 3 tower events, so either next February or early May. I'll also need this remaining stack of 1716 half elixirs to successfully produce me 1 Apocalypse Lance/Typhon Lance/Garuda Hammer.
