Thread: New DMM Kamihime English Server Release.

As many of you have noticed already, it seems like DMM is opening its own Kamihime Project EN server without Nutaku's services. Nutaku's KHP will not be closing down and data from Nutaku's KHP will not be transferred to the new server.

What does that mean to people that has been already playing for 2 years? I don't even know, but I'll you guys discuss this topic in this thread.

It's hard to speculate at this point but unless DMM is doing their own translation, they are probably just using Nutaku's translation so there is a possibility that both will coexist until the players started dropping off like flies.

i m slightly concerned that Nutaku might get cut-off by DMM.... and if they do, i hope players get compensated... but its hard since nutaku wont give up their user data.

Seems like that should be the least of your concerns.

DMM's website for its upcoming English Kamihime release doesn't say that players won't be able to transfer over from Nutaku's version. Instead, it has a note saying that user data from the Japanese version won't be able to transfer over to the English version.

I am confused. Will players be asked to start over entirely from scratch? Or are they going to just copy everything over from Nutaku's version and not tell Nutaku?

More importantly, has DMM announced official English releases of any other games in its lineup? Kamihime being in an "English Games" category doesn't really make sense unless there are plans to add more games to that category, so I figure that's what will happen anyway, but...

This is the first English release in the new category. Hopefully first of many.

I'm confused who DMM is seeing as the potential playerbase here. Since it's the same as the Nutaku version I see very little reason to reroll from either the Japanese or the Nutaku version, unless Nutaku version rips or they only use the Nutaku version as a starting point and then make some major changes. Unless they believe that they can reach an English audience that Nutaku isn't reaching, but who would that be?

I very much doubt that DMM would be that stupid. Fairly certain that this is just step #1 for shutting down Nutaku Kamihime, so that they get rid of the middleman. It is fairly impressive that DMM finds English Kamihime worth the effort. Thanks Bam and Chinese whale unions!

The second reason would be that they now see potential in English releases and will start doing them themselves now, rather than having a middleman handle it. That's certainly good news for the English audience, just not good news for the Nutaku Kamihime players.

Nutaku hasn't been good news for anyone for a long time.

Yeah what Slashley said sound's right,didn't even realize they added so many games lately,they wan't control everything now don't they?or get a nice $ cut,they pushing DMM player damn hard,gief linux support damn it!
