Iunno, Gaia (AW) has saved me on countless occasions, including being added to off-element parties to save my butt. That being said, for spamming shards on, yea I kinda feel ya there, but definitely don't think all defensive kamis are worthless at any rate, especially for newer players that can't clear content very quickly and have to eat multiple bursts in solo events (like T4 accessory and GO).
