I don't think they're nerfing Ults? Well, they're giving a MASSIVE HP nerf to Ult Dark (because fuck that guy), and a minor (rather insignificant) HP nerf to Water and Light Ults. But with no mechanics changes, they won't be very accessible to newer players.

No idea about the Rag nerfs, though.

Angel weapons need their FLB too. The difference is:
1. Demon weapons are dual-skill, which inherently way more powerful than single-skill weapons. Like for Advent weapons, would you rather get 8% more Assault, or 5% more Assault and 15% more HP?
2. There are two good Demon weapons, and one out of the two is an Exceed weapon. While you don't need much Exceeds, you do need one or two (if you own a P2W Eidolon). Angel weapons? There's one Assault weapon, and one total fucking garbage one.

Lets get some things straighten up at first.
I will not go into detail about newer players, they have totally different issues to solve first and Exceed weapons aint one of them.

Raid Medal Shop: Easy to get your shit in a couple days (if you aim for the big ones a couple more days) work. Here is a run down of your daily income doing your (probably?) usual daily Raid-Routine (Soloing).

Standard: 2 Medals per run
Expert: 3 Medals per run
Ultimate: 7 Medals per run

Lets sum up: (2 + 3 + 7) x 18 = 216 Medals a day.

Rags and Guardians are a different story, so I go by detail of the rewards.

Ragnarok-Raids (Cata & Guardian)

Hosting: 9
MVP: 3
Participation: 3

Since you gonna do 1 Guardian per day anyways to get your Och (Phantom Guardian) Raid, it is 24 extra, which makes it 240 Medals per day.
Hunting down other peeps Och/Guardians/Rags means, in less then 8 days you got a copy of a phantom weapon of your choice. If not needed, other convinient stuff like Prem. Tickets, Dragon Eyes, Shards, Orichalcum or the quite expensive Pages for T4-Soul Books.

Union Event

I dont even know why this is an issue at all. Either you need the weapon or not is up to anyone themself. Some people still to this day get destroyed with their amazing teams because they got like no Defender weapons in their grids and neglect the fact that you actually need to survive shit to get something. 30% is a lot and can ease out a lot of problems some elements have. Players that are neither new nor long time player should have interest in those 2 weapons. They are a big boost for just one slot each.

Guardians

It is harder to farm Magna then farming Globes. Guardians are and will be a all time flavour of the month and you just need to tag them for a 50/50 roll on a Globe. You are also always guaranteed a Fragment which 10 can be converted into into a Globe (Batch-Type system, cost increases after the first batch is bought).
The first copy of a weapon needs 20 Globes, next 30, then 50 and last 75. This is on a monthly reset like most other shops of the game and will reset back to the first value.
Obviously you get some more Globes if you host them and if you are lucky, you may also drop a weapon, but that's up to RNG. Oh and Regalia can drop aswell, so you can get a slight refund on hosting.

Light & Dark Ultimate Nerf

Light Ultimate gets some major nerfs that make it far easier as it is right now. One big one is, normal OD doesnt dispel anymore, so this already helps out a lot.
Secondly: The 50% Trigger only happens now once for the whole raid. 500k HP one time, Atk, Light Atk and Def buff (NO Dark Resist buff). No more newly joining triggers and refreshing buffs by people joining late.

Dark Ult also gets some massive nerfs. -7m HP down, no more dispel. Overheat is now Burn and can be cleansed, only 3 turn duration. No more def buff. Affliction damage reduced (cap 500).
And if I'm not mistaken also - Rampage gone.

I'm not sure, only dark ult is not solo-able right now without a solid grid though. If you have a decent team, the other ults should be close to solo-able with full disaster phantom grid once you've unlocked a few T3 souls and have a full event eido grid. This is especially the case if ppl are willing to spend $30 for the beginner mtix that matches the element from their guaranteed SSR roll or the 100% they re-rolled into.

I was thinking the light rag, which imo is the hardest rag by far. That one gets nerfed severely around the end of the year iirc. The changes I can remember off the top of my head are:
a. Main boss no longer instantly rages on turn 7
b. Top add no longer casts that ridiculous dmg cut + light atk up combo (only the atk/def up combo)
c. Main boss' death beams are no longer locked onto a single target but is actually randomly scattered

I think thunder rag's zapping also got nerfed from 10 to 5 zaps, but dun quote me on that one.

Not sure if there are other nerfs, I paid most attention to light as usual...

Actually, there're all sorts of goodies from that shop, but the currency can just be farmed from regular raids. If I read the wiki correctly, hosting and mvp-ing all standard, expert and ultimate raids gets you 216 medals a day, so that works out to over 6000 per month. Rags can get you more. You probably want to grab all of the following:

• All tickets - 1125 medals
• All draconic eyes and shards - 1450 medals
• All HSP - 500 medals - not that expensive!
• A phantom weapon - 2000 medals/weapon - each type limited to 1/month, so you can MLB it in 4 months without doing a single rag

That still leaves you about 1000 spare medals, which you can use to buy ori to get ori shop weapons without even doing GO, or just save them for FLBs. You can also use those medals to trade for pages needed for T4 soul, but I think it's ok that new players can't unlock them that quickly.

Actually, I have used non-soul weapons for GO, 'cos some souls are just not worth investing a soul weapon in until you start the T4 soul grind (looking at you Sieg, who's GO mission this week >.>)

Outside of that, if you're slightly crazy like me, occasionally you'll have builds that use T2 souls instead of T3, in which case the soul weapon bonuses dun apply. Those situations are extremely rare though, so for all intents and purposes, weapon burst effects are useless as Slashley stated.

Lol, yeah seraph replaced demon for UE. Guardian weapons are generally very solid, but completely inaccessible to newbies.

But alongside these Angels, won't there be some permanent Raid Event feature? So, instead (or in addition) of using Eidolon Orbs and Orichalcos, the player can have easier access to past Eidolons, Raid Kamihime and Weapons.

I mean, if that is the case (not sure), it seems to be a good compromise - weaker Union Events weapons in exchange for permanently available past content.

The Union Events don't seem to be that noob-friendly anyway. Maybe DMM thought, "new players feel bad because they can't get those sweet weapons. Maybe if the weapons were a tad weaker, these people wouldn't feel like they are missing out on content". Dunno, maybe they made their marketing research.

Don't get me wrong I like my Assault and Pride Weapons with cool burst effects, but those weren't easy to get! I could build my grid faster if past Raids were available when I first started.

You probably mean the Epic Quests which are previous Raid Events nerfed down to be 1-Turn-Solo-Content. Yes, that happens in the near future aswell.

Yes, I meant these Epic Quests! Maybe DMM made a Market Research after all, instead of "not doing their homework". Also, the Japanese playerbase may have different psychology. For one I believe most whales are from Asia, so they would be more willing to purchase more often, which can be a factor behind nerfing the rewards from UE.
