Thread: What to prepare for in 2021

Hello, all! As the new year started, I decided to make a short list of "what to expect from 2021".

Info on Battlefields content - release of Lucent Weapons and FLB of Gacha Eidolons. Please!! Don't sell or fodder your SSR Weapons until implementation of that feature! Also, don't try to get a Lucent Weapon day one! Probably they will be released at an exorbitant price, like in DMM, and prices will be toned down in about a week after release.

Info on released SSR himes - in order to let you plan your MJ expenditure. I, for example, am saving MJ for Limited Edition Fire Tishtrya this February, then will hoard all until June for LE Fire Dagda...

Info on SSR Eidolons - this year they will release the Catastrophe SSRs. They pretty much outclass Guardians, so consider saving your resources to roll for them at the time of your main element:

Water: -May 1st
Wind: - June 30
Fire: - July 31
Thunder: ~August 31
Light: ~September 15
Dark: ~October 29

Info on tower events - I and others plan the improvement of grids based on what the next tower will be:

Wind: -January 31
Fire: ~May 7
Dark: ~July 7
Water: ~September 8
Light: ~November 5

Since you mentioned Lucent weapons, maybe you should expand what exactly those are.

Also, aren't FLB Eidolons from Guardian+ fights, rather then from battlegrounds?

Notice that I've many, many times spoken against Jewel usage on these forums, since on Nutaku rate-up is a lie on Jewels. However, this has probably been changed some months back, as rate-up Hime are actually popping up on decent amounts across my friends. Where before they were like, once a year event among all of them combined. So yeah, saving your Jewels for extremely strong Limited Hime is actually a good idea even on Nutaku now!

Speaking of which, maybe you should list what exactly those Hime do.

Thanks Slashley, for your quick response. Will check your thread, for inspiration or see if this one is unnecessary. About the 3 poins you brought up:

1 - Yeah, Guardians PLUS are the ones who bring materials for FLB Gacha Eidolons. I stand corrected.

2 & 3 - Info on what lucent weapons do / info on what each hime do. Well, I will update the post later with such info. The important thing was start writing, you see.

Looking at future events, can't help and notice that the Python Staves are pretty good, with their Large Vigoras. JP Wiki states the only other sources of Vigoras for Dark are a 50 eyes weapon, and a gacha weapon. I will study the other events and check whether there are other noteworthy F2P weapons - by the way, I also didn't mention the SSR Disaster weapons in the first draft.

I stated something about Python Staff in this thread. Specifically, since it lacks the generally superior Assault, I wouldn't bank on it.

It can work, as replacing an Assault weapon with a Vigor weapon is an upgrade... ... at full HP. But unless you're specifically making a team for Burst Hour damage, I wouldn't do it personally.

There is little luck involved about getting the Dark Catastrophe with implementation of pity system (another thing to write about).

Dark Catastrophe probably will be released in a rate up banner, so one just needs to have saved 90k MJ by October...

So, with Assault issues solved by having that Eidolon, a Vigoras Staff grid for dark could be:

4 Dragon Cane on Huros (Vigoras cap achieved with help of Dark Cata)
1 Phantom Calamity Staff
2 Jealous Hammer Rebel Punisher (90% Burst Damage Cap Up achieved with help of Dark Cata, just short of the 100% cap. As it has the ill-needed Assault, having a third hammer is not bad)

1 Soul Weapon (if a Staff, phantom grid enabled, otherwise, another staff is required)

1 or 2 flex slots (Ideally would go with 1 or 2 Nefertem Staves, which bring Ascension and Assault)

I assume you're talking about this:

300 pulls gives you 300 points, so 30x 10 pulls = 90k Jewels = one picked rate-up "equipment". Also, this only mentions SRs specifically, but I assume that means "SRs are also the full 300 points." Also, points are lost once the rate-up banner goes, so this is basically the exact same system as Magicami has.

Now... the thing is, Darkness Disaster comes at the end of November, while this mechanic applies in "December." So will this really apply to her banner? Even if it does, are they really going to hand out P2W Eidolons for a mere 900 bucks? Sounds fishy. My guess is it will be Hime only.

I don't think you can get Eidolons with points. Recently, Water Disaster was on a banner, along with Water Gaia, Isis, and Southern Star Lord. Neither Eidolon were made available. Same goes for current new rate-up banner, the Eidolon isn't available either.

Still, this does largely mean that using Jewels until 2022 New Year Hime is... unwise. Since it's far, far better to save up all Jewels that you get from now on and grab desired Limited SSR Hime once you reach 90k Jewels. That's... going to be a long year.


Geo, I am looking forward to you expanding on the many things you've started here~

Lucent is a system which gives buffs to himes whose favorite weapon's type is matching your lucent weapon. It probably not really worth to fiddle with due to guardian weapons getting FLB. But I don't remember much on this, so yeah, lets wait for Geo's elaborations on the topic.

From limited himes ones i know worth of noting is ongoing Nyar and wind Osi. Also, water Agali's weapon bringing large assault/ large exceed to you.

Had a busy week, but will link the future himes to their descriptions on JP Wiki. Also will add info on FLB Gacha dolons.

Indeed, the pity system was implemented only on December (so it is not a thing to look forward to in 2021); It seems the pity won't apply to eidolons... Anyway I will still try to hoard some 90k MJ for Dark Cata in October (I do think the Dark Vigoras Staff Grid is good enough to at least try getting the Dark Cata, and justify some months of not rolling at all)
