Rachel is admittedly more of a long term investment but she's just plain practical once SU'd. Her skills paper over her class's only weakness and thus she can contribute against anything but the most absurdly armored units. Basically, think of it this way: Spica is so good that anyone who can outperform her at all is automatically worth a good hard look. Plus, later on we'll (hopefully) be getting a free Advance Guard that comes with a 10% attack power buff to Pirates that further erodes Spica's advantages. Those of you related to Kyogre should further note that it should stack with Anelia's Awakened ability and allow you to thus bring even more pain.

TLDR: I wouldn't necessarily gun just for Rachel but if I happened to pull her from a loaded spotlight I'd in no way be disappointed.

Is she really THAT good? i don't really use pirates but since i have her maxed cc already i'm considering AW her

I'm on my way to AW Nanaly atm, but the only thing i lack is not gonna be avialable until monday so...

Do i do it? if i get good drops from the last runs on today's daily i will have enough for another AW fairy, that and i already have my CC'd silver for Nanaly besides Rachel's.

If by "THAT good" you mean "better than Nanaly" the answer is hell no. Rachel does everything you could reasonably expect from a platinum pirate but that's not the same thing at all as being on the same level as Nanaly. Nanaly murders the ever lovin' crap out of things. The reason I fixate more on units like Nadia, Uzume, Gellius and Rachel more than Minerva, Nanaly & Aisha is because the former group of units is merely hard to acquire while the latter group drinks big salty whale tears with every meal.

I couldn't say for certain I have both Nanaly and Rachel but only got Nanaly recently. Nanaly being a black unit and a must have archer is powerful, her quad shot and increase range with affection make her deadly during her skill. Though on the other hand Rachel being a prate packs more of a punch and with her skill active becomes a powerful unit with a larger range than most if not all archers especially when she is awakened.

Personally in my opinion both are good to have AW but end of the day it is who you believe it is better for your team. I am going to awaken Rachel first on my team as I already have Spica and Bashira as good archers but will eventually AW my Nanaly too. Her increased range and skill make her good for large maps and with her affection up has more health than Nanaly just a little less defense but only by two point. But as I said who would you use more?

Nanaly's big claim to fame is that she's a ridiculous "first pick" unit due to her skill being front-loaded--Triple & Quadra Shot don't scale with skill ranks worth a damn, but they're still strong enough that you can murder everything without first throwing a bunch of fairies in her direction. Throw in the Black tier initial skill timer and you have a unit that's uniquely suited to single-handedly carrying a crappy team past nasty early rushes through the magic of superior firepower. She's less dramatic on a veteran team that's already rocking Awakened plats but even then she's a nice pickup.

i think i didn't make myself clear here, i WILL awake Nanaly because 1. i want that nice range up and 2. she has a nice dmg up against flying monsters
i was just asking if Rachel was worth awakening, now i have done some research and while she seems usefull in the future (dat 90s skill), right now she seems more like a situational unit to me, maybe i'll awake her after a few units

Sorry got caught up in my explanation of what I thought of her and went all out lol. She definitely isn't a priority unit to AW but one if you do have use for pirates or can see use for her in the future which I do.

Now here's a question: Should I AW Rachel when I have AW Nanaly, MINERVA, Aisha, Despara, Farne, Spica, Sasha, Adele, Yuyu and Garania for ranged damage already? lol
