I'd argue that the only thing surprising for this dominion are the archers that spawn at 400 kills that can kill a squishier target (like an archer/mage/bishop) if not careful. Other then that , i'd call this dominion easier then the last one

Hmm, so for Total Domination events, do the higher difficulty runs basically just mean "same monster waves in previous difficulty + another 100 (200 if going from Normal to Hard) wave of slightly different monsters"?

As in, if I were to do the 400 enemy Extra difficulty map, it would be EXACTLY like the 300 enemy Hard difficulty map just with another 100 enemies tacked on after that initial 300?

kinda ,yeah

The easiest difficulty is different from the rest of the runs (only one HQ, less enemy variety), but otherwise, yes.

Pretty much, but the "another 100 enemies" tend to have some stronger ones mixed in (like stronger ogres and some demons in this case; not much to worry about if your ranged damage is strong)

Looking at the patch notes...We might not be getting a new event.

And what kind of five-days event you expect from them?) The only way they could've fill these 5 days is to prolong Gold Rush, but that would've been too easy.
