I thought I had a working strategy for the last map, but I failed to 3* twice yesterday because I activated skills in the wrong order/too late. Killing Nurarihyon ASAP really does affect how the rest of the run goes.

ever tried going katie(or any gold+ soldier) into solano (aw solano makes short work of nurarihyon) into prince into spica(or any other random archer/pirate/etc) into healer into heavy (to block the spider) into any plat mage set down right the middle of the 2 spawning wind weasels pack ? Wait for the red onis to spawn , and place any barbarin into the place were the left pack of the win weasels were (to tank the tengu shots - u dont even have to retreat them if its any gold + barbarian) ?

This is literally my semi afk setup...

But as i said , it can be done with silvers as well (this strat relies a lot on solano to be honest , and a good plat mage - i used aw odette - to kill the weasels before the tengu spawn)

I'm lazy and using my farming team (Cellia for rainbow fairy boost), which is noticeably lacking in ranged magic.

I just used Elizabeth/Nanaly to nuke the middle, and Berna to take on the Ushi-Oni. But Berna can get two-shot if Nurarihyon is still alive, if Iris' skill isn't on, and if dodge RNG just doesn't kick in. Learned that the hard way, even though all three happening at once on a semi-afk run isn't all that probable. And if the Ushi-Oni doesn't die quickly, Elizabeth is distracted for too long, and the Nurarihyon starts moving... Things get a mess from there.

So I learned to just use Elizabeth and Nanaly's skills early to DPS them out of the picture. Makes the rest of the map a cakewalk, though I still occasionally forget to put Noel down in time, so the kamaitachi survive with some health left by the time the red ogres and tengu spawn, which also causes issues.

so use a bernice instead of berna ? Bernice doesnt die even if she tanks red onis , nurarihyon and the spider all at once. Whats the point in going for berna ? Also use some magic dps ffs. Both nurarihyon adn the ushi oni seem to have high armor.

edit : use the god damn celia to tank tengu shots. She can take both shots and requires no healer. If u have nanaly , like i do , you can kill nurarihyon with solano/nanaly combo before even the ushi oni needs to be tanked

    Like I said, I'm lazy. :P

I use Betty and Cuterie as tokens to deal with the tengu, so Berna gets deployed for that reason.

And Berna does fine against Ushi-Oni if one of those things isn't true. I just had a run where all three of those conditions happened, and it quickly fell apart. Elizabeth had no choice but to spend more time focusing on finishing off the Ushi-Oni, so Nurarihyon managed to start moving, etc. etc.

Yeah, this is seriously the "Vampire Hunters, y u no kill scorpion?" thing all over again, right down to multi-legged critter having exactly 1k armor. Okay, to be precise it's actually worse than that since Nura buffs mononoke attack and defense by 50% while he's alive, but you get the idea. There's plenty of setups that have little need for a witch but I wouldn't count a comp building around Berna, rogue tokens and Elizabeth among them. That's exactly the sort of high speed/low damage comp that Princesses are actually sorta bad at balancing out since most of them can only hit things they're currently blocking.

For the records, Nagi + prince buff is enough to 3shot the green thingies. I just used a soldier + prince and used Nagi's skill just as the first green thingies got into range, then placed units i needed for nurarihyon. Healer wasn't out until the ushi-oni was about to hit my soldier and at that point nura was dead (and i even had a mage out already for the claw thingies).

To clarify - Soldier just the spot next to Nagi, prince above so he won't get hit by green things. Soldier did the 3rd hit and did not take damage from the thingies.

Huh? Nurarihyon dies in seconds once Elizabeth's skill is ready. Ushi-Oni's a prick but Berna can hold him down while Elizabeth cleans up any leaks.

I was just saying that if you want a lazy run of the map a tough multi-blocker over Berna and magic damage over Liz is the way to go. Liz is my waifu but she's feast-or-famine on that map--her skill melts face but without it she's pretty vanilla.
