was trying to figure out how to kill the golem - since you needed one of the two Plat Armor drops for the completion drops - if you can kill the golem, it will increase your chance to get the plat armor

Its not necessary to kill that Golem for a drop (or even for the completion). I couldnt even survive against him (i always use my standard Team which is Level 30~). You can ignore him and still get 3 Stars and good drops. As you can see from my previous post its still possible to get the Platinum Armor without killing the Golem.
