Pretty much this and it is also a bad idea to raise affection to exactly 50. Let's say you hit 49 affection and decide to use a bouqet. A bouqet is the lowest affection giving item and can give 1-2 affection. So if you raise it from 49 to the non-CC max of 50, you potentially lose out on one affection point. I know it isn't much, but it is still something. Same with being 48 and using a pearl, 47 and using a ruby, or 46 and using a diamond. All of them have a chance to give you one more point.

Also never heard of the term Cost Evolve before. People tend to use CC (Class Change, the japanese term) or CE (Class Evolution).
