Great, now you have access to the rest of the story maps. Just don't bother with Immortal beast for a long while. That one is castle retake on steroids.

I only ever grind off of Dragon Hunting.

Correction: Don't bother with Immortal Beast at all. It's somewhat designed to "not be beatable" even though it is, since it is the final challenge and all that :P

Dragon hunting is actually very character exp inneficient since you can get one unit less total from the map. I'd recommend Flame Dragon once you're able to take it, or Remnant Vanquish 3. Those will give you the most units while still not taking the biggest toll on your gold (Return to Ruins is actually the most efficient, but it will drain your gold like a company going bankrupt).

Yeah, I saw that in the guide, too. I've now run Dragon Hunting twice, first time was a 2-star (placed a healer in the wrong spot and the wizard murdered her ), second was a 3-star for 3600 gold! Which is great, because I have burned almost 70,000 gold on upgrading troops since I first started posting (I started at a good bit over 200,000 by selling a lot of gold armours and not having anything upgraded past 30).

I also managed to get the completion bonus for Retake the Castle somehow, so got a silver out of that without having to run it again. Off to run Dragon Hunting again!

That's good to know. I know I can do Dragon Hunting, I am probably going to stick with it for a while. What I've been doing with these maps is: Grind the map I know until I'm 1 run from leveling up. Use whatever charisma I have left to try the other maps out. If I win and level up, then great. I know how to beat that map now. If not, then it doesn't actually matter, as long as I save just enough charisma to go back and finish the map I know I can beat for a refresh.

It's been working pretty well so far. Today I had 130-odd charisma left when at 297xp to level up, so that gave me a lot of room to play around with Retake the Castle.

Edit: It kind of bugs me that the Dragon Hunting mission goes way down the list, though, instead of staying near the top. /me pokes it.

Yeah, Dragon Hunting definitely is the easier of them and while it does not give the same unit exp efficiency due to that one less drop per run, it IS the most rank exp efficient map in the game. I ran it for a fair while myself until i noticed it was very inneficient. It's still a decent map and it gives more gold as well.

You should be able to do Flame Dragon if you can do Dragon Hunting, though. It can be a bit "tricky" since the dragon actually circles around meaning it doesn't head for the goal at once. You have enough time to place out a soldier, the prince, a witch and then use the soldiers ability and place 2 more units before the dragon actually gets within shooting range (if you place the witch in the "middle" spot).

And i agree, why the heck does Dragon Hunting not stay at the top? -_-

Is Flame Dragon unlocked when you defeat Remnant Vanquish 3?

Immortal beast is very doable even to 3 star. I did that a long time ago and even have my video of it posted here. It's just that it requires a full team of High level CC units, with enough firepower and survivability to outlast the 3 liches. I think I used 4 healers and a few different tank units as lightning rods for that. Should be much easier now with Karma.

I'm not concerned with the amount of units given, just exp per unit. I do DH because I can drop two units and afk the rest of it, my gold only steadily rises while farming exp there, and the fodder is level 18. I could farm flame dragon or immortal beast all day, but I'd rather not because I'm a lazy grinder. I'll switch to IB if/when we get auto complete.

The maps order I have in that guide is the order they are unlocked in, aside from Immortal Beast appearing right away. Just complete them to unlock the next.

What two units do you drop for Dragon Hunting?

I start off with Nanaly l35 to clear out the initial spawn, then Katie 30CC30, then two witches (l33 gold and l30 silver) for the dragon that comes out. Then I have to drop a healer l30 to heal up the dragon damage, then a heavy infantry l35 to block the right hand side, then a second healer l30 to keep everyone alive from the wizard / next dragon... a Prince somewhere in there for stats.

Most recent run was a 2-star because Nanaly let one goblin get away. Harrumph.

Yeah, not happening anytime soon for me. Got my first gold mage and gold healer this tuesday when i was on my rolling spree. Only got Alyssa, Dorca and Echidna, not surviving 3 liches with that. Can probably give it a try after this event, though, since i do have Immortal Karma. But i'll probably need to level Fedora before i do anything, as well as both my gold mages.

And two units? I have to place at least 4 of them. Katie, Prince, Cl(ito)ris and Elizabeth. Hope they give us autocomplete soon so i can just press that shiny button.

I believe it is unlocked after that yes, but not sure, was a long time since i unlocked it.

    .
If you have a strong enough archer and prince, this is all you need.

My Spica is 50CC61, but that is stronger than she needs to be for this.

Interesting. I would have given that one a try if i wasn't constantly doing Flame Dragon since i want to level my units faster. I'll have to try that at some point, though, if i ever am in need of running Dragon Hunting. It tends to happen at the rare occasion where i will level up if i run one DH but not one FD and i am low on charisma. My 50CC50 Daniela is able to solo a dragon in FD so i guess she might be enough.
