Well, if leveled up archers are able to solo a dragon, I guess that does indicate how powerful they are. My Nanaly can't do that yet, she needs a lot of backup (it's the witches on my team who are the actual dragon slayers right now).

Some day I shall get her leveled up and CC'd, and she will become a(n even more effective) force to be reckoned with! Have 2 platinum fairies now, just need 2 more and a platinum armour. And then a bunch more units to feed to her to get her from 35 to 43.

Edit: Thought I had 3 silver archers for feeding purposes, only have two extras. Will need to find a third somewhere, too. Oh well. Still, progress!

I wouldn't use a plat armor on her unless you have 3x black fairies. Otherwise the armor is going to waste. And then you would still need a 4th black fairy to CC her with.

It really is not as bad as you think it is to level 40 to 50 without a plat armor. I do it ALL the time because it saves me plat armors for later. For Nanaly, she gets a bonus exp from archer fodder, so DH is a really good place to grind for her. In all honesty, once you get to DH, you can grind that and not care about your gold any more. You'll be fine, I promise. As long as you don't try to level units past 50 with only the gold from it. And if it really makes you feel better, then the gold boost in the shop is really not a bad deal if you suffer from empty coffers. It takes the DH reward up to 5,400 gold per run.

Make Nanaly to 50 your priority. If you don't already have one, then work on Tuesday/Friday dailies until you get at least 1 black spirit. And then use that and 3x silver archers to CC her. Level her up to at least level 40 again after that, and just watch the devastation with her skill activated. You won't regret it. You'll just be mad at yourself for not having done this sooner.

I'll say this again just to be clear. Don't worry about your gold. Just spend it to level up units without using plat armors. You will be fine if you just grind DH. If you grind anything else then I won't make the same promise.
Gold has no other use right now than leveling units, or wasting it on the 2k summon. No reason at all to care about how much you have.

Okay! I will give this a shot. I have pretty much all the other units I use on my main team up to between 30 and 35 now, which seems to be a pretty good level for them, they are able to pretty much hold their own against what I'm running against (though they really had to strain for the Retake the Castle mission, I'm proud that they were able to pull it off! Go team!)

What would you suggest using platinum armours on, then? Waiting to use them on units that are already CC'd for the upper levels? The guide I read earlier suggested using them to get units to 50 the first time, which is why I was planning on that.

Personally i never use plat armors on anything unless it's CC'd and past lvl 40-50, usually 40, but never on non-CC'd units unless it's a princess or similar that cannot be CC'd. And always use the same type of fairy with it as the unit you are combining it with

I only use platinum armors on units I want to take past level 50. Those are much harder to get than the 100k gold or whatever that it takes to get 40 to 50. Plat armors should never be used unless you have 3 fairies of the correct rarity for the unit that is being fed to take advantage of the full 8,000 exp they can give. The guide you were reading was clearly written by either someone with a different perspective on how they should be used, or someone who was trying to prepare you for castle retake.

It isn't necessarily a bad thing to use them to level to 50 for the first time, but it certainly isn't necessary. There isn't really anything to rush ahead for the in the game right now, even the current event rewards are kinda bad. And I don't think you can do all of the event by the time it ends anyway. Just take your time and level up Nanaly, then a healer, a witch, an armor, a mage, another healer, and then just whatever you feel like after that. For now, until you get a large amount of CC'd units on your team, level your units to 50 then CC and re-level to about 35. Once you get something like 6 CC units at that level, you start noticing how much easier things are getting.

    Wait, Princesses can't be CC'd?

Poor Themis... she is all gray despite being over level 30. I hadn't even noticed until now!

Well, to be more precise, cannot be CC'd until the Awakening feature happens, and at that point you will need like 2-300k gold and 4 gold units to CC them :P

They get a lot more stats per level than CCable units, though, so don't worry about that. Princesses are still awesome, especially Sybilla (which i sadly do not have...).

I hit 60 demon crystals this last Thursday, so next Thursday I should be pretty much assured of getting to 70. Would buying Cyrus be worth it (my best mage is the silver one right now), or is it better to save crystals for Spica / Akane / Saki (I suspect that Spica would be the best choice, if I didn't already have Nanaly?).

Today I pulled a silver Alissa from the free Shrine (not even the 2k, just the free daily), and then got a gold Fedora from a Premium (the daily sacred crystals and completing a couple of maps). Pretty happy about that one, I only had my two silver healers and definitely needed something better.

    Edit:
I had 90-odd charisma left and 36 experience to the next level, so I tried the fairy village mission 4 again. As I stated last time I arrayed my forces to the right this time. I ended up at -2 life; I think that with a good layout I could probably do it with the troops I have right now, but going to keep leveling up a bit more to make it more plausible without wasting a lot of charisma until I get it just right. Still, it's very promising. Since all that comes up from the left to begin with is one dragon and two red gargoyles, might even be able to set up on the left end now, too-- if I had taken those three out, would have even won this attempt.

In all honesty, while Cyrus IS better than Valerie, he is not THAT much better. I have managed so far with just Valerie + a bronze mage until my recent pulls from premium summon. I'd say wait and see what happens. Personally i will save my crystals until they announce a change in the trading post and then make my decision.

Grats of Fedora, i was in the same position when i got her earlier too. Great to finally have a gold one.

    Edit:
Oh and you CAN get trading post units from the premium summons if you are lucky/unlucky (i mean, getting Cyrus from premium is not really THAT lucky imo).

I wouldn't buy Cyrus, and even with Nanaly - Spica is a good choice. Saki is not a bad choice either, but I think she will be around much longer than Spica will be.

And Cyrus is the only one of those units also in the premium summon.
