I am going to have to take back my original comment on points not being that hard to get. I must have had a very good day on day 1, since i finished it with 253 points (including the free 50). Day 2 I got 149, and today I only got 104 lol. Unless my luck turns back around to my day 1, I definitely am not going to be getting the jade ticket.
*sigh* Takeda Shingen is a very good tank for my group but I don't like her as a Heavy Lancer. I kinda remember that Elite Guard is a Tank Troop Class for Temple User but which general suits for that.
Takenaka Hanbei is probably the tank you're looking for, at least among SSR generals. Naoe Kagetsuna is pretty good, too, and has a very nice team buff in addition to her tanking abilities. Hohjo Ujiyasu, Honganji Kennyo, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi are also serviceable tanks. All of those have high leadership ratings and a self-healing skill.
Really, though, tanking becomes less important for PVE as you get stronger. You don't really want to draw out a battle across 5 rounds of combat and eventually win. You want to kill opponents before they even get to attack, and tanks don't help with that unless they're carrying a good team-wide buff. Faster battles means that you can do a lot more of them in a day.
Oh. Silly me. I just thought maybe the center position should be tank. Guess I should replaced Takeda Nobushige with someone else. Let me check on my units again. Also, I don't have Takenaka Hanbei so what does she do?
And I still can't beat the Legendary Players (excluding Sir Semaphore because I respect you.). T_T
FUCK!!! I accidently pressed to challenge to a random Legendary Player. T_T

Is it possible to enjoy this with out paying ?
Showing up every day to do whatever the latest events are makes a much, much bigger difference than paying a ton of money. So yes, you could play the game and eventually be competitive without paying any money. If you buy the monthly pass for $5/month, that helps quite a bit. But pouring hundreds of dollars into the game will help you a whole lot less than you might guess at first.
For what it's worth, I've won daimyo twice (server-wide weekly tournament) while having only paid for the monthly pass and less than $32 in other stuff, nearly all of which came before the monthly pass existed. So you don't need to be a whale to be competitive, though you would need to show up every day, not just now and then.
Hey Semaphore, am I just being really unlucky on drops for these, or are they really low drop rates? I only just now got the 30 i need for a blade, and I have been clearing all 6 of the maps every day for 15 days. There were a few days when I literally got 1 out of 300 tries.
