I never read FAQs, but I remember reading THAT ONE. Anyway, many, many companies have this policy as well. This is why I don't deal with virtual currency, regardless of whether or not there is an expiration or what have you. There's also a clause in your ToS that stipulates Act of God as well as unwarranted intrusion (e.g., if they were hacked) as an exit clause for Nutaku on honoring their side of the bargain.

I asked this question in the LIVE chat and they said the FAQ is INCORRECT!!!!!

I'm not a 100% sure since their SPECIALISTS offered me a special offer and it's kinda weird. I entered the live chat under the general-inquiries page.

Well, I doubt that guy had thousands of free gold as he himself said that he bought it. Seems like their "specialist" doesn't know what he is talking about. Also Phil... Just go and complain to him about anything and he wil offer you some special deal. He always does. He is more like outdoor salesman trying to get you to buy something rather than specialist.

I'd never buy more monopoly money than necessary to make a same-day purchase. Still, this policy bothers me and the way Nutaku handled it (refusing your request and trying to nudge you to buy $100 more) is very shady.

I posted a poll on my Twitter account and linked to this thread. I'm curious what people who aren't Nutaku regulars would think about this.

If you think this is scummy, you may as well think all non-subscription MMOs are scummy, since I'm fairly certain most of them have similar policies.

Like, fine, if you think it's a shit policy, that's your call, but it's also nothing new and calling it shady is just silly.

    1. Nice necro
    2. So how are you even posting? Internet service is an intangible. So is netflix, going to a movie/play/concert or any other entertainment experience.
    3. It seems like a really stupid idea. People that don't read the FAQ will get burned once and never give 'em money again, and post negative threads like this one thus potentially alienating others. People that do will always buy just the bare minimum they need for whatever they are wishing to purchase, thus forcing Nutaku to rack up significantly more credit processing fees than if currency didn't expire... and also making the customer far more aware of just how much they are spending/kill casual purchases. I find it VERY hard to believe stealing like this (and I would have to argue that's what it is) is a net gain for Nutaku in the long run.
