Thanks, so far its been pretty stable.

At the moment I am experimenting with this AV1 encoder, and if it turns out the way I expected it with this test encode (which will finish upload in about an hour after this gets posted (https://mega.nz/folder/mE5xCCQJ#R0jgAkAc4403Gbh5RQzc5g), the need to record on AV1 will not be required anymore, and I can continue recording and editing in x264, then reencoding to AV1.

The first part of the 9 nine AV1 encode was 2.9 GB, the compressed version is 711 MB (!!!). I'll have to watch the entire 4:30 hour playthrough to see any artifacting or defects though. After watching it, lag ocurred during the opening so its back to recording at x264, which is better anyway since its much more stable and I can edit out long pauses when im afk.



The 5950x build should reencode faster than my current PC (2920x)

If this successfully encodes the way its projecting to be, I'll need to compress all the visual novel playthroughs to AV1. The DMM hentai scenes will remain at H265.

(the recording in the image posted should compress it from 20 GB to about 6 GB, although I am estimating it will not have enough bitrate in the end and some artifacting will occur)
