(Seriously, when you turn all daimyos into woman don't translate the pronouns into he or him. >_< )

As mentioned the story makes sense if you know to japanese history and relationship between the historical characters.
For instance the relationship between Shingen and Kenshin is pretty famous, they were more than rivals to each other and some even suggest that they might have been lovers, in fact there's a theory that Kenshin might actually have been a woman crossdressing as man. Thus it would make sense that Shingen attacks to obtain Kenshin, this also holds true for a lot of the other characters' personalities.

Though I do agree we could have used an introduction of the main character and why we were involved in the beginning of the war, in fact I have no idea yet if we have taken the place of a historical character or are random strategist A.
I do know a little bit about the segoku period since most historical JRPGs seem to have a raging hard-on for that era but I still don't understand why we're fighting in the diegetic of the game

For me the history part isn't "bad" but the wording and grammar are a major downer. The character bios are also there but none of the pronouns are changed.
