Lightbulb New Upcoming Game: Crystal Maidens

So I saw this game pop up yesterday in the top of the Nutaku homepage and read the news post about it.
Would have started a thread earlier, but I wasn't qualified to post links yet and now I am so huzzah.

Hearing the name you would think Dota is coming to Nutaku but it's surprisingly something else; It seems interesting enough though. Apparently it was announced in early April but nothing was really shown except for the information on their blog. But now there are actual screenshots and a trailer so let's see.

    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDcvHbQvYvs
    April Blogpost: https://www.nutaku.net/blog/crystal-...s-coming-soon/

    • So it should be a brand new game from what I understand.
    • The art style has a certain appeal. I find it more pleasant than Sweet State or Big Bang's style in any case.
    • Combat seems to run smooth and not chugging like Shooting Girls did.
Though I wonder if it gets tedious quick if you have to do it hundred times over per session.
    • UI looks pretty standard; so it should be rather intuitive.

Besides the combat it seems pretty similar to other Nutaku games in terms of mechanics/progression.

I mean it's nice to see something different, but my biggest concern is if and how it will keep itself interesting enough to keep playing. Unless the real-time strategy combat system is really that much enjoyable in itself. Nevertheless, I'll definitely give it a whirl and I don't see why anyone wouldn't at least check it daily to get those pre-register rewards if you do intend to pick it up yourself.

    Opinions?

Not at ALL what i was expecting (and thank god too!), but it actually looks really interesting. I might have to try it out and see whats up!

Well, the art style is unique (in a good way) at least.

Hopefully (in addition to the basics like fun gameplay) you'll be able to use lots of characters at once in large scale battles (to give a reason to collect so many different characters) and the town building is robust for more rat pellet potential.

From the looks of the combat UI you'd think it's 4 characters only.. but there are clearly more than 4 characters with green health bars on the screen in some of the scenes so I don't know. I'm just hoping it's not too tedious to evolve characters and acquire the mats/chars for it.

Will give it a try for a change, since the non anime art style will freshen things up a bit.
If the game will be interesting enough to stick with it, is another question completely

    Any news about this game?

    - - - Updated - - -

Nope, as always we will have to wait quite a while for nutaku to reveal anything

Only news that I've heard is that this game and Attack on Moe will launch sometime in June, according to a Nutaku blog post about pre-registering for the games.

And I'm guessing Girls on Tanks will launch globally sometime after these two games. (They have a global pre-reg for it going, so it has to launch globally at some point.)

So if anyone use the word "news", that gets turned into a link to the wiki news section of X-Overd? It is especially weird since I'm not allowed to post links, so it is weird that just using a word automatically gets turned into a completely unrelated link.

    Pre launched.

For now, 15 girls, real (and unlockable, not included into the story) H-scenes, upgradable stamina bar, incentives to farm, daily quests allowing F2P to farm currencies (even it's not a lot). Looks good for now.

Edit: And back to preregister after a cluster fuck of bugs (account disappearing )

    Basically, the game system:
Up to 15 girls unlockable with different classes. Equipment system (with differents stats like CDR, attack speed, and so on). Free gacha, with a bit more than 3 draws per day (1 draw per 7H, stackable trice). Village with several building, increasing damage with a specific element, increasing inventory, increasing stamina bar, increasing gold gains, and increasing maximum money you can hold.
The stamina is 1 per 5 min, completly refill on lvl up. The base is 25 stamina max, but each lvl of the dedicated building increase this cap by 5.

Missions have variable stamina cost. The first ones cost 5, grants 200 gold (before multiplier), white (trash) equipment and several crystals of a given element. The first boss cost 10, has 1H cooldown, grants 1000 gold and can drop blue tier equipment (5% chance). The next missions cost 6 and grant 250 gold (so the ratio is a bit better). Couldn't go further before the shit hits the fan.

The gameplay is a bit strange. Missions have 3 stars. One if you complete it, one if you kill every foes (you just have to kill a target to finish the stage), one if nobody die in your team. A character dying can come back after 12 or so seconds. You can't control how characters are moving or attacking, but you can move them to the back (if they are going the wrong way or if the are taking too much damage). Every character has a skill, usable after few second.
