You have to go to Nutaku's web site and re-download the game to upgrade to version 19.1.61. Usually, when it's necessary to do a clean download, the game won't let you in until you do. This time, for whatever reason, they didn't do that. Once you do a clean download, then it will work.

Looks like HW event, but cant find any info about it.

This item is part of the new "Affection"-System that was activated today.
Appearantly you can now use the "Sweet Scrolls" to aquire certain items via daily missions. Similar with the Raids and the Elemental missions you have different "Gift" missions on even or odd days of the week (and most probably all missions available on sunday). Trisha and Naladia are currently the only ones you can give those items. This will also be another daily mission from now on. (Raising it to 7)
However what worries me, is that you can aquire those "Sweet Scrolls" only via the shop...for diamonds. And on top of that, once you reach the current maximum for your affection level, you need a special item which can only be drawn randomly from a loot chest (bought from the gift shop with diamonds). Maybe there will be other ways to get them in the future, but right now it looks like a paywall, if you really want to max out the affection.

Oh btw...it seems that every girl has a certain type of favourite gift where she gains more affection from and one type she dislikes and gains less affection.

I don't see a problem here, it doesn't stops your game progression and we get enough diamonds for free to slowly complete it.

The events are getting easier to do and this affection feature add a new incentive for people to pay, this is no charity, they need to get payed.

For the record: Trish doesn't like jewels and Naladia doesn't like dessert.
