Waterlily is a reasonably useful oddsmaker. She is perfectly accurate in her predictions, however she does not offer a prediction about who will win the race.
Rather than predicting about who will finish first, second or third, Waterlily predicts whether each boat's position in the results order will be the same as or different to their position in the odds order.
When reading her predictions, the marks she makes on a boat should be interpreted as follows:
