Halvdan has black hair rather than white, and while the outfit is the same, being dark, but the green accents are now red. Both are one handed pirates, with the other arm being a hook. Hodgkin is a graveborn, which means he's dead, and is functionally an immortal undead, but it's unknown if Halvdan is the same. Hodgkin is definitely what you expect a cruel pirate to be, and couldn't care less who serves him as long as they're useful, while Haldvan is a more compassionate captain who values loyalty.
