Just being able to skip 20 utterly pointless level loading screens and their associated game crashes every two days is worth the cores. If I had a criticism to levy against how PoC skip is implemented it's the lack of articulation. In a checkpoint system like this I'd rather it be something that lets me come back and retry any specific map in the sequence for a better battle/time score, and then save that result as part of my skip totals for 15-20 cores.
