Unevolved personal equipment gets just as much experience from them as from earring forge spirits. The one to one refinement means there's no particular need to save them for evolved equipment.

I got the blade Aizoon has on her Sprite and Artwork once I evolved her personal equip. Very cool touch, considering the sword is as tall as her so its pretty iconic

Also - whats nazuna doing there instead of the "Go go go !" button ?

I thought it would be her pony Ibuki(?). Lol. I mean, some of the evolved personal equipment can be animals.

Nazuna's actually jumping... er, button-mashing.

The Personal Equipment Forge Spirits were added to lessen the load on Earring Forge Spirits. Any type of forge spirit can be refined into personal ones at no experience loss. My saying there was no need to save them was because you can make them as you need them. The most likely reason that unevolved still get bonus experience from earrings is the grandfather clause.
