During this time, you should farm the new whaleship missions with swordfish crew. It's not that hard and a good (or the best?) way to farm 2nd affection gifts. First time we got this.

The battle video on the main site shows that the old rotating rows mechanic is gone and it looks more ATB than turn-based. You're also lugging a full-size stage through the city streets somehow.
