Solar party is still viable on some of the maps that are too annoying to nuke through normally, such as high def (damage will still get reduced), negate, or gimmicks like in a few Nushi maps where damage is reduced. It also allows you to have the quickest farming times on some maps, which is also the most effective way to farm ampies.
Here's an example of solar usage at Aqua Shadow Higanbana EX Destruction. Normally the main boss would receive 1 damage unless the two shadows in the same battles are dead, but instead solar setup allow you to skip the mechanic as well as the previous two node battles.

Of course, the overall damage is nothing significant compared to crit setups, but there's a lot of playing room opened up since the introduction of RGs like Evasion+Shine drop solar setup.
Flower memories also bumped the solar effective value significantly too as each memory are treated as it's own multiplier (for example, multiplied 1.1x for a total of five times) rather than added up together to like 50%. This means if they release a 6* or make fully LB'd 5* solar memory more accessible, then the damage will even go higher.

Yeah the FMs might make solar interesting

If you are short on rainbow solar girls, there are a few golds that are good for whale without RG

Solar Dmg up +30% Coral Bush (June Bride),German Iris, Turnip (that's 90% right there if you got them)

Yeah Crimson Clover is good. I like her RG. I havent done her though yet.
The way I do whale is to just take damage on the first batch.
Then Im at 300% for the 2nd batch and use the crystal room to finish it.
Takes about 150-180% initially which I got without a helper.
Works good unless they bring the deck team fights back

As for a team i got 2 solar rainbows and a couple of unused rainbow Fms for shine crystal rate
not enough to bother for a team yet until they get the damage up or Godetia falls in my lap
If Turnip ever gets RG, She could be good with a 1.65 skill act

My only Solar 6* is Mimosa and she is not the best Solar 6*. RG girls are too expensive to use R-shards on SB girls for a bit gimmikcy team. But if I got more Solar girls, I would like to try a nice Sun team. It's a cool and underused game mechanics.

I was looking at some potentials to RG and somehow overlooked Butterfly Bush

Single target 5.4
Critical Attack rate of party members increased by 20%
Critical Damage of party members increased by 40%
Party members attack power increased by 30%
Re-action 50%
Skill activation for party members increases 1.2

Fullmoon appears to be pretty good with a 25% rate and 40% DMG , 60% Atk for 3, and basic skill act, and miss

Silk Tree won, Anemone second, prepare for yet another anewaifu skin, and of course cross shuriken chan is up there as well. Pink ladies became strangely popular two years ago and it keeps on going.

Canola for 4*.... meh. Hope Cepha can get the love needed one day to finally get a 5* gold version.
