Ok so if I get it right (coz I didnt really get a clear answer):
I can bloom the girl, and still do the normal affection items, until she hits 100%.
And after that I will start using the Bloomed gifts to raise her to 200%

Correct ?

Basically affection and evolution/bloom are entirely unrelated. Just as you can still do 0-100% affection after a girl is evolved, the same goes for blooming. Affection and evolution/blooming are entirely unrelated and can be done at any point.

Question time for me, pretty easy: Where exactly can I find the stages? I kind of want to test some of the "waters" here after running challenge maps yesterday. On the screencap, I believe it's that "grayed" button at the top of the green one/party setup, but because it's not click-able, I have no way of knowing what it actually does. I also noticed there are dates (1/16 - 1/23) on the right, so am I correct in presuming I can only engage in whaleship battles at certain periods? (e.g. previous week when whaleship quests were up; didn't bother with it though)

Majority of the time whaleship missions are only available during the 2nd phase of the current event.

Took less than two hours to get the event unit. and all 7 materials starting in a raid boss event.

Indeed, this event is quite nice and the drops from the bosses are nice too.
BTW, the total currency needed to empty the whole store is around 200k.
But only 50k is needed, because the other 150k is for golds coins if you are interested.
