Both are really good characters right now, since both have their bloomed form available and can (after two evolves) level all the way to 80.

Sakura really adds a lot to teams for Raid Boss events as well and would be my suggestion over Nerine (who is quite good as well, but her utility is a bit more niche).

I saw that Nerine has after all evolutions, 30% bonus ATK, 15% DEF, 3% DMG reduction and 120% Bonus Skill Activation.
While Sakura has 30% bonus ATK , 120% Bonus Skill Activation and at boss battles 35% bonus atk and 5% Bonus Damage. Plus the thing is that Sakura has 380% bonus dmg one target skill.

So Defense versus Attack?:))
I initially wanted Sakura because you can also get her exquisite earrings

More or less, yes.
Or, map clearing vs raidboss slaughter, since Nerine has an AOE special while Sakura has a single target special, not to mention the bonus atk and bonus damage.

They're really both terrific assets, even when they're not bloomed yet, so if you can't pick because of their skills, I'd suggest to pick the one who ranks highest on your scale-of-waifu.

Please explain what these raidboss slaughter are. Everytime I see a girl with that x% damage against raidboss I just think "Pfff! What a shame this unit only have one useful ability."

What's the point of these x% atk to raid bosses?

On a different note, I still don't understand how that swan race works. I bet on the girls, after checking the results the game says I won and tell me to check my giftbox. I check and there's no rewards. Am I missing something?

Actually rewards from the races are given just after race result, even if you don't check the results. If you use the collect 20 items button, there is a great chance to get the reward without notice it. Check the collected gift history. Race reward should appears.
