148 here by just using all energy for pvp and doing the daily missions (still sitting on a large pile of money, so no need to fight bosses outside of events). The cap actually isn't that high, I expect that the first few at 400 will be around august. At 53 you should be getting a level or more a day easily just from the daily missions.

Absolutely. I'm 143, getting ~1 level a day from daily missions and pvp. Never paid a cent for energy refills or anything. July/August sounds reasonable for the first people to hit the 400 cap, assuming no significant changes in XP income.
