I'm going to preface this by saying I'm a big fan of diversity and experimentation - go with whatever you think sounds like the most fun.

Part of what makes Brynhildr so nice is:
a. She can heal the entire party at once - while also having a very nice health pool and trash-sweeping potential.
b. She offers more party flexibility - your only potentially guaranteed healing options are the somewhat fragile water healer you start with and your player character/shinki avatar(if you class them as a healer). Having an extra fire healer means you can swap between your options, depending on the content you're engaging. Lightning bosses will tear Nike(starting water healer) apart, for example.

You have a party of 5 characters, and in a very RPG fashion, you almost always want to have atleast one healer to keep people alive. (One of those slots is always taken by the player's shinki avatar - who can swap between classes/"heroic spirits" and always functions as the "summoner" of the party; if they go down you can no longer summon Eidolons.) There are no "tanks", per say, so the rest of the party is pretty much up to whatever strategy/luck you have.
