Its not assault SSR, cause some SSR dont have the 16%, its assault large, assault medium and assault small, assault large (usually ++) is 16% at maxed, with a base 6%, assault medium (+) is 13% at max and has a 3% base and assault small has no + and its 10% at max, all of them gain 0.5% per skill lvl.

Pride is 0.5% per skill lvl too so at max they give 10% too, the difference being that they give 10% at 100% hp, with that 10% increasing the less hp you have until a max of 29% at 5% hp, the breakpoint between them and assault large being 70% hp.

Finally, 3% may seem not worth it cause its a tiny difference, but that 3% is huge when you have a lot of stats, that on top of most SSRs having way more stats (atk and hp wise) compared to simple SRs, so its not "just 3% more", knowing these values you can calculate the assault value of your grid yourself.

0.5% assault per skill lvl, so assault (large) hits 16% at lvl 20 while assault (medium) hits 13% at lvl 20.
It is a low difference, but keep in mind:
    1. SSRs generally will have higher atk, so you prefer them eventually.
    2. Certain SSRs later get the option to receive a final limit break later. Part of the prerequisites include being lvl 125 and skill lvl 20. This FLB raises the lvl cap to 150 and skill lvl cap to 30. Also, either a pre-existing skill is strengthened or a second skill is added. Other resources are also needed.

So yes, a lot of resources are needed to fully realize an SSR's power. But they're also meant to have the highest ceiling, so it's a fair tradeoff. SRs are quicker to reach their ceiling, but that ceiling is also lower.

Essentially, you invest in an SR with the understanding that it eventually gets replaced by an SSR. How long until that happens? That's variable, but can be lengthy of the order of many months. So you're striking a balance between opportunity cost and your immediate needs. And when it comes to opportunity cost, constantly readjust. Things like 'oh hey, my grids are full of SR or above, any new SRs from this point on is fodder' changes your situation. Things like 'union events from now on spit out tons of R cups' changes things. Or the recent gem gacha update on DMM that removed N trash changes things (by the gods I want this update already).

Oh dear, I've wasted so much time and resources enhancing SSR's rather than going with my SR's first, I feel really dumb now
Thanks for your help, sir is much appreciated, I do get your standpoint on the metagame but I just have 2 grids maxed (wind and dark) and I've struggled to enhance others since i've focused on SSR first since I thought it was a big difference, as it stands for me is just an end game luxury or even a punish to skill level SSR for my non main teams

imo, SR wpns are only good in the first 3 or 4 months. by month 5, u should have at least 10x MLB SSR wpns. even off-element SSR's are better than SR Assault of your main element. their raw stats are too good to pass over.

13% assault for ~900 attack is not a great tradeoff, even at really high amounts of assault you lose damage. I deal around 1000 less damage per hit by replacing my worst SR with my best off-element SSR. SR weapons should be used until you have 10 same element SSR weapons.

um.... u might b right. i need to do some tests.

edit: i think at my level it works out either way.... probably because my stats are low at this time, slvl is low as well and that i am using +chr ATK eidos.

    He is right*
At your level your priority should be Skill Leveling Up SR Weapons before SSR since they'll take less resources and so on, a half maxed 30000 Attack Grid completely dominates and decimates in Damage a 50000 Rainbow Weapon Grid, I use + Character Attack on my main team and I hit for 80k off attribute and 110k+ with advantages, you have to be aware of your priorities if you want to have a healthy end-game If I were you I'd start skill leveling up my weapons as soon as possible.

    Cheers

    I personally go dual-skill SSR20 -> SR15 -> SSR10 -> SR20 -> SSR20

Do I have a mathematical reason for it? Not really no. But since each Assault level gives you the same benefit (except for dual-skills which gain double), that's probably fairly close to an optimal route. If we're not talking about as optimal as leveling everything exactly equally, which would certainly be better, but boy would it be a pain.

    I have some questions:
    1) now my wind weapon grid is 1 pride SSR gun, 2x dualskill SSR, 1 thunder SSR sword (it's almost 100 lvl so i'm using it for raw stats), 1 defender SR (40 lvl, sl1), rest - assault SR (only 2 maxLB, rest - 0 to 1 LB). Skill lvl is small - 5 to 8. Is there any good reason to craft second disaster lbmax assault bow instead of defender gun? Or use them as skill fodders instead?
2)Are there at least some good sr eidolons, other then Vine and disasters, that are worth keeping? Can i sell all of them in eidolon shop somedays or only disaster/event ones?
3)And another question: my current parties are 1)Mordred, Hastur, Chronos, SR Cybele, Osiris 2)D'arty, Hastur, Chronos, Itaqua, Osiris (no more ssr, no more wind sr, many rares). I found, that Itaqua deals almost the same damage as SR Cybele so i'm using her when i don't need b-type debuff. Yesterday i've got Amaterasu from the premium ticket. Is it a good idea to replace someone (maybe Osiris) with her in this parties?

    4) And about D'arty's exclusive weapons - i have 3 options - keep pride gun and save regalias for someone's else exclusive weapon, take gun (allies wind attack up and snatch up), or pistol (wind character hp up, sniper shot up). What are this bonuses in numbers and what should i do with regalias, because i'ts a very long-term plan. Who among the souls will get more benefit from exclusive weapon? My legendary souls are Mordred, D'arty, Jean(in progress).
