Ancient accessories aren't mentioned in earlier versions of the wiki. They were likely added with rank 5 accessory quests.
At least according to the edit screen, even the raw stats of an acc are also only for the character equipping it. So 500 att will be better, but not massively better. A more interesting question would be how 4% double att chance compares to 500 att.

Realistically though, you shouldn't be spending any effort on leveling your accs until you get good ones.

Incidentally, if one goes the route of holding off on seriously leveling accessories until you get what you want, thoughts on leveling temporary accessories?

An R caps in the 500-600 range, while taking 3145 exp to do it. That would take 21 R's of matching element (and/or the R tier rosaries). If you enhance in a batch of 20 R then 1 R, that should take 4900 gems. Or, do it in one batch of 19 R's and 1 SR (again, all matching element) if you want to spend only 2000 gems. (always enhance with matching element for +50% exp)

An SR caps in the 710-800 range, while taking 7245 exp to do it. That's 24 SR's + 1 N. You can do the 20 SRs first to get it to level 37. Then the next batch costs 37*5*100=18.5k gems. Add the 2k gems from the first batch and the total comes out to 20.5k gems. If you want to do it in one batch, you'll need to mix in SSR accessories. 5 SSRs + 14 SRs + 1 N ought to do it.

And SSR takes 13345 exp to max out. You can't do that in a single batch of lv 1 accessories. The simplest way is probably 20 SSRs first to get it to lv 48. Then you'd have 1345 exp left to go; 2 SSR's + 1 R would do that. Gem cost would be 2k from the first batch, plus 48*3*100=14.4k from the second batch for a total of 16.4k.

Oh, and for trivia reasons, the lowest gem cost way I can think of right now (while still being simple) is do it in a single batch of lv 18 SSR accessories. Lv 18 means an accessory gives 69 exp more than lv 1 would, which should be just enough. Getting one accessory to lv 18 takes 850 exp. The fewest materials needed would be an SSR and SR for that. So that's 200 gems to set up each lv 18 accessory, times 20 such accessories for a total of 4k gems for the setup. Then the final batch takes 2k, so the total gem cost comes out to 6k gems!
...it just took 40 SSRs and 20 SRs along the way (while all matching element!) :P

What are the lvl caps for the accs? I assume it's the same for R/SR/SSR accs too?

    Lvl caps are 20/30/40/50
That also means that the exp curve for all the rarities are the same; the difference is where they end.

So then, why would you not want to throw 3145 exp at an SSR to get it to lv 30 first, then get the last 20 levels later? You'd still have 10,200 exp to go, but gem costs become more troublesome. The cost to enhance is based on the level of the base accessory and how many materials you use up; what exactly you consume to give it exp has zero bearing on it. It's level * # of materials * 100. So to enhance a lv 30, it's 30 * # of materials * 100 gems. Enhancing is basically a tradeoff between gems and higher rarity accessories; being more efficient with one requires more of the other.

In the DMM version, (in the future basically) I take it accs can't be limit broken right?

Current information does not mention anything about limit breaking.

That said, layer 5 was introduced in a recent update (4 days ago as of this post). So we'll just have to wait and see what DMM players add to the wiki over time as they suss out what layer 5 introduces.

Oh, to be complete, N accessories max out at 300-400 atk. It takes 1045 exp to hit lv 20 (their cap). You can hit that with 14 Ns of the same element in one go for 1400 gems. That's the dirt cheap budget option.

Personally, I think R accessories (500-600 atk) shouldn't be too hard to farm for mid-level players/lazy farmers. As far as I've seen, you can expect 2 silver chests/3 copper chests per run of layer 2. Coppers will drop Ns, silvers here drop mostly Rs (but I've gotten 1 SR to drop this way). It'll take some time to actually get enough matching R's to max out 1 R accessory cheaply. But it's an option to consider if you don't want to bother with the material costs to enter layer 3/4 and/or you're not strong enough for them.

For myself, I don't think that I'm strong enough to reliably farm layer 3, and I kinda don't actually care all that much yet. I'm thinking of opting for Rs for the time being; maybe eventually accrue enough accessory points to trade for the occasional SSR if I ever settle on an element.
Hell, it's possible that I can go for N's first, then switch to R's. N's are cheap enough as is.

Unless I'm missing it, I don't see how much exp each accessory is worth prior to actually confirming the enhancement. N is 10, but what about the others?
