Smells to me like they're up to no good. If they do, they definitely owe compensation to whales. I know some will argue about how they don't guarantee anything, and the players knew beforehand an yadda yadda, but there is such a think called unconscionability, and if something is unconscionable, it's also illegal as a matter of law. Example. A customer goes into a bar and orders a Coke, but doesn't ask how much it costs, and later they bring him a bill for $1,000. The customer complains and then they show him a menu that says Coke: $1,000. Does the bar have a right to charge $1,000 for a Coke? Yes. Should the Customer have asked how much the Coke cost before he ordered it? Yes. But guess what? He still won't have to pay $1,000 for the coke, because charging someone that much without telling them in advance is unconscionable. Also, if someone spends $1k whaling for fire Amon, and only gets to use her for 1 month before the server shuts down? Also unconscionable.
