Not down my end of the score table!

I put in a set of scores first weekend around 10m per, with 15m on my best. I then made a couple of small improvements on Monday to keep above the line, landing 310 in the end. I could have done better, but the prize difference was tiny so not worth it. Good going to anybody who got Medea by the end, though, without burning 9800 jewels to do it. I’m gradually shuffling towards a Medea, but won’t get there this month. Pages are just too infrequent. I could have done more prep though, so only myself to blame. Have to say, the grind is beginning to get me down. It almost feels the devs want us to go whale, or give up. I may eventually take the hint at this rate.

    Good work, everyone.

Wow, there's... actually quite a lot I want to say. I guess first off, congrats to Calder for being the stronkest Shingen on the server! Second, the Nutaku original bug of not properly updated lists strikes again. Third, is this the first time we see DARK up there in the rankings?!?

I bolded the off-element debuffer sacrifices. Unsurprisingly Nefertem was all over the place, but there was plenty of other Hime as well! Which I always find impressive. Sadly, we don't know what Hime replaced these ones for the full burst, but Hime with more debuffs and/or high burst gain is a likely bet.

In addition, teams were VERY varied. As expected, lots of debuff Hime are showing up in their own elements, but still, we had like almost NO two same teams? Things are always way more interesting when there is more than one correct team. Sadly, the next Skill Checker-kun will be 5 turns (which will probably mean one correct team) and ever after it'll be 10+ turns. Which means... Managarm+Michael or get out. Wow, so very interesting. Anyway, a large reason why we're having such varied elements and teams here is mostly due to Medea. Since people are pretty much guaranteed to have Medea only for one element, this kinda forces them into playing that one element for this event. Well, technically you CAN use Medea without her Soul weapon since the AoE effect of it doesn't help here, but you wouldn't want to miss out on 40% elemental, would you...?

All in all, a pretty good Skill Checker-kun event if you ask me. It would've been better if Medea hadn't been around for it I think, but oh well. Good enough!

I did say that Medea would dominate. It turns out getting 50x+ attack damage in a single turn just from your Soul in a competition of one turn damage is preeeeeetty gooooood.

New Skill Checker-kun event is live.

This time, the gimmick is that he is nigh-debuff immune. You have five turns. He only does two things:
    1. If you use all four color abilities in a single turn, AoE damage + self-def -50 (1 turn, guaranteed) + self-atk+ buff (small)
    2. Otherwise, AoE damage + self-cleanse all debuffs and self-atk+ buff (large)
That's a fairly interesting setup that, in theory, allows for lots of gimmicks if you can think them over. Sadly, things like usually get utterly dominated by one single thing.

To my understanding from DMM, this time around, that one single thing is Wind Atum + Medea combo. Now, Wind Atum by herself upgrading Medea's ability damage from... ~7,9m to ~11,8m (rough estimates) is fairly substantial, but the real treat here is Medea's AoE abi-1 spam. So here is roughly how shit works:
Turn 1: Use abilities preferably for +100 burst or near, use CD-1 from Medea, reset, CD-1, (Medea CD now 8) Wind Atum's -3 CD on Medea (Medea CD now 5), full burst (Medea CD now 4)
Turn 2: (Medea CD now 3)
Turn 3: (Medea CD now 2)
Turn 4: (Medea CD now 1)
Turn 5: Use CD-1 from Medea, reset, CD-1. This allows you to use all abilities which have a CD of 8. Use these abilities again to reach another full burst.

Now, either I've misunderstood this, or there are a couple of flaws to this. The biggest one being that the boss will only be debuffed on turn 2. But hey, like all DMM tactics, they've made exclusively for people who have full same-element Kaiser Grids and perfect Hime FLB Grids. You know, stuff 100% unrealistic to anyone who didn't take a small loan of one million dollars from their dad for a gacha game. But yeah, this tactic should work great when you casually reach burst damage caps even without any debuffs.

I have no idea what is going to be a good tactic for us mere mortals. I guess the basic "lol Michael Awakened" will do just fine. Too bad I don't have Michael or Wind Atum... I wonder if I can get to top50?

Oh, and as a side note, after this Skill Checker-kun I believe all future events will be on-element only. While you technically can do them off-element too, Skill Checker-kuns will have strong, passive damage cuts against all but elemental weakness.

Forgive me if I sound overly dumb, but how does one do a full burst on turn 1?
Wind Atum has -3 CD? I'll just pretend I didn't know this.
I gave it my best short with my Fire and Wind Medea team, hopefully I'd get somewhat decent reward out of this.

It doesn't need to be turn 1, but it needs to be fairly fast. Bring lots of team-wide +burst skills. For example, Asherah [8], Michael [7] and SSR Amon [7] have teamwide +20 skills which you can use twice thanks to Medea spam. Also reminder that you can bring Asherah Awakened in backrow to start the entire team with +20.

    Double postan'

Not sure if I got that wrong, or if that was changed, but it doesn't look like Asherah Awakened gives you +20 burst from backrow now.

The one thing that is going for me is that I do have plenty of hime to choose from but having said that, are you suggesting a rainbow team is viable here? Otherwise, I am only going to be able to do some setup and trigger the def down on turn 4 and do a FB on turn 5.

If I had a solid solution, I would tell you. You'll need at least two very strong Full Bursts to get any kind of decent score, but exactly you can get two off is... beyond me. Well, I guess it's not that bad for perfect Light teams, but.

Hmm. Didn't notice the self-debuff thing, I'm going to have to re-run everything I guess.

One-run on each element using a moderately-tailored team gets me 10M per, plus 13.5M for Water and Fire (Thunder and Water hime teams) because I've been optimising Thunder and the game throws SSR water himes at me. That's put me top 300. If I can double my burst damage with a 50% debuff engineered the turn before, that should put me safely clear of position 350, which looks to me like the only rewards step that matters (assuming you can't drop out of top 1000 and aren't looking to make top 50, which I expect requires S-level souls at this point)

Thanks for the details Slashey. Good luck trying for that 2 full bursts... :-)

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what's been shared. I have accidentally triggered the def down before and didn't know how it happened.
