Is her aoe decrease a recent nerf? Or is it part of her skill..or is it becoz she is gold, that her aoe is considerably less than everyonre else...

You unlock AW prince after you beat the 70 charisma jungle map; this allows you to pick a special title which AW the prince.
Just change your title to anything else to turn him back to unAW prince.
