i'm so glad i managed to get an almost perfect Claudia, really made the map so much easier and somewat forgiving timing-wise

it can't be helped. the guides actually can be summarized into 3 types from what I can tell:
1) gank boss early and slow shadows and kill boss before shadows escape (the video I just linked)
2) block shadows early and only release them when you start fighting the boss (key kii)
3) block shadows and duel boss at the end, splitting into 2 teams. this method relies heavily on multiple healers and rather good tanks (poor troopers)

Was hoping Bernice would get targeted by another shadow to block that vid looks very risky to try though

Well I used AW Bernice with Keykii strat and got 'lucky' because I accidentally let single goblin mage pass so Main Boss just walk past Bernice. Otherwise I'm sure she'll block him. I realized it when my Bernice taking quite a damage when her skill is active. Luckily I have enough UP to deploy mage and my healers are competent (Alissa Iris AWFedora). And everything went well as Thetis dueling Main Boss with Despara-Sasha-Calioppe supporting her.

Got 5 rogues so far, but with only 1 Ruby drop despite Cuterie on team. Weird.

sorry, my mistake. it won't block the main body, but will block the goblin wolf rider instead, so key kii's might work. if you watch the video again at 1:45, you just have to make sure you pull that ganker off the goblin mage after it dies so your ganker doesnt hit the wolf rider (which then proceeds to get blocked by phyllis in the video). what should happen is that bernice will block the wolf rider and he will stay around for a fairly long time I think.

That guide didn't give a fuck about the shadows, just the weaklings and then quickly duel the boss before shadows can touch any unit whatsoever

Besides that one, yeah, pretty much every other guide follows any of those categories

nope, that falls under category 1. he's ganking the boss early, just that he doesn't bother slowing the shadows because he has sufficient dps to kill boss before the shadows.
edit: if you check again, they actually gank the boss at the same point in time.

finally cleared veng g now have 24 stars

1 Soma out of 11 runs. This map hates me

i got none in 2 days of farming , so you're doing way better then me already
