One nitpick: I'd actually prioritize CCing Val over CCing a second witch on any account that gets no immediate gains from acquiring black spirits/beating Wall of Magic. Mages may be irritatingly expensive but they're a necessary evil on young accounts and the 70 extra range can make deployment a lot simpler.
