Even that is pretty debatable. A little bit of restraint is all it takes to turn any event into a net positive for newbies--the first two or three maps are virtually always a softball thrown in as a bone to new players and thus are an easy source of crystals as long as you can resist the temptation to keep beating your head against the maps you can't finish. Angst over missing an event unit is typically rather misplaced since frankly most of them aren't very special.

there was a whole tornado of arguments and not-really-arguments about why they are good and why they aren't, if you have read the whole thing the general consensus was "if you want a break, then a break is good for you; if you don't want a break, then a break isn't good for you" end

that's why it's tabooish mentioning it

Seems like the people who think they are good are people who play dmm. And you play dmm cause you wanted more content. Case n point

its the other way around actually. The ones that play dmm don't want breaks. That being said , people that want breaks also want new content. They also want some time inbetween some events (not after every event for example , and especially not after star events/gold rushesP to raise the new units they got. Otherwise , it's just a new unit that will stay at lvl 30 for 5 months , until a new event comes that needs her niche abilities. Yey

Not to interrupt you guys from your scintillating "Breaks vs. No Breaks" flaming that goes on at every forum I see when I do research, but the next Event was announced and it is Shadow Sniper. How did I know the Platinum Archer Event would be right after the Event where a Gold Archer was given? This is Charlotte/Horace all over again...

to be fair , they fit different roles. Also the gold archer wasn't the main reward anyway

Xiao is basically 4th and rita will be the 3rd archer for newbies if you dont have nanaly. I've even seen someone using 5 archers in some maps so its not a big waste. Shao and rita are both niche. Shao for low cost maps, rita for more defensive...
