She isn't "bad" as much as people expect alot from a black unit
+ she is supposed to be a free black (suddenly a premium on nutaku, but still unadjusted stat wise hence high cost)
+ she is outclassed by the other black healer b.iris which boosts defence and attk after SAW. (b.iris is OP)

Her niche is removing abnormal statuses along with her larger healing radius and SAW AOE heals

She's not bad in a vacuum, she's only bad compared to other black healers (which we don't currently have) and her skill doesn't increase healing, so she costs more to deploy than Camilla and Chydis, but only heals more outside of skill. Most would consider her bad considering there are plats that are arguably better, but that's to be expected as she was originally an event unit. Why on earth she was made premium in our version is beyond me.

She is not that bad. Even, not bad at all. She has black tier stats all right, and her skill gives her an unique niche of anti-paralysis.
But, she is a event unit, wholly unupgraded one at that (read 0/5 CR), and so costs leg and both arms to deploy. And, her skill does not feature power multiplier (only range), so she is less suited for the burst healing. Her AW ability is major healbomb, but plat and free gold healers have something like that already.
And, most importantly, there will always be a hope of her event finally hitting our shores, what weights heavily on her status as premium unit.)

Oh, and there's also the little thing that Saint Illys, whom she replaced, is simply outright broken, outrageously so, as far as healer/support goes

I can understand if liana is worse than most plat healers, but if these blacks you mentioned if we can get them only from shrine then liana is our (f2p) only optimal choice between healers. I mean cmon, should i use alissa while even i have her? iirc other healers were mostly shrine units too, dunno, should take a look at jp wiki.

Well, thing is, Liana's NOT f2p here...
And yes, you totally should use your Alissa first, unless you mincosted Iris, or are deploying healers in the late-game, in healing-intensive environment where silvers don't cut it anymore (rare), or when cost is non-issue.) Min-cost Alissa is bae Min-cost AW Iris doubly so

There will be a couple of event plat healers and even more healer-hybrids (unless we skip them like Noel&Kagura )

I'd use Alissa over Liana any day of the week.

Though it's a moot point when I have mincost Iris, -1 Camilla, and Chydis. Also cutest miko with the cutest butt, mincost 5/5 Shiho.

Dont even remind me about shino. How did that loli/flat chested girl slip through while b.iris is swapped out for liana. #FlatsHaveFeelingsToo

Not having a unit to care about and two farm weeks (one before and one after) means I have to awaken another unit to make room again.

I had to pick between Rowanna, Ada, Lynn, and Momijj and I ended up going with Momiji, since the update and having Waltz made her more attractive. Need to find a nice place to really try her out though. For now, just for fun I tossed her into Phalanx 2 with a Waltz and Prince cheer squad and it's just so much nicer than what I remember she used to be capable of.

I want Liana's event even more now though as clearing paralysis is now slightly more relevant to me.
