Thread: First year DMM vs First year Nutaku

clearly they are doing a different business model.
Dmm's one is to encourage users to spend by having multiple events and many units quickly.
Nutaku's one is to enourage users to save money for the upcoming recession by having many breaks, releasing old events slowly and buffing old dmm events because they gave us too many breaks.

seriously ? they have the server running for how many years now ? And they made no MALE event ? Aren't they bored by the "damsel in distress" cliche already ?

Also, there is a Desert set of story missions? How many damn Mummies does it involve and are they all like that one event G map where a unit's HP gets sliced in half upon placement?

Most of the events aren't so much "save" as "help" (help Solano make a contract with Efreet, help Shiho re-seal the oni, help Rika contain the automata, etc.) or "challenge" (Belinda, Maribel, Lynn, Ada, Azami). The only damsels in distress so far are really just Charlotte and the current one with Marie/Beatrice. You could argue the case for Anya, Rosalie, Odette, Len, and Horace, but that wasn't really the focus of their respective events.

Going to have to throw Marie and Beatrice in the "help" pile. Neither of Damsels in Distress. Both could have not been in the situation they were, but choose to fight to the death instead. It was a three sided war... where both their sides were played by the monsters. Weakening each other before going in themselves.


Also Karma was a damsel. Anya's people were invading you and you captured her. Rosalie was a soldier in the fairy village army. They were being invade by dark elves so you helped. Odette... Don't remember her story. Len was helping her retrieve her fathers manuscript. Both of them were coming to join you already from what I remember. Horace was invading you regardless of her reasons for doing it. She wanted your head.

Marie was pretty helpless, I thought. Beatrice, not so much, but she was "technically" in distress.

Anya was against the invasion, but I guess she wasn't exactly in trouble. Echidna, on the other hand, she's definitely a DID.

Rosalie needed backup against the dark elves. I guess she personally didn't need saving either, technically.

Odette was attacked by monsters, but she didn't consider them a threat. If anything, she turned the situation around and challenged the prince to fight the monsters while her magic-canceling ability was in effect.

Len was also under attack, but yeah, she was coming to join you.

Marie wasn't so much helpless as on the losing side of a battle. Are all our enemies helpless? If so then man we are terrible.

doesn't change the fact that they have no male events , yes ? Random question to the people here : wouldn't a male event be refreshing once in a blue moon? Would you people try to max him if he was a very good unit? Or just never bother with him just because he's male ?

You know, lolix, this is a hentai game. Sex sells. Just look at Lafate who outright refuses to have male characters in his team. I don't really think a male event would be as well received as a female one (well unless it's a trap, those are great!).

That aside, damn we have missed a lot. Come on devs, step it up already. Many of the characters we are missing have been greenlit for the love of god!

So while we're making lists, let's talk about what advantages Nutaku does and doesn't have over DMM.

In the past year, what have devs dropped the ball on?
-Missing "approved" units (the arguments have been done to death, but just to put it on the list)
-Awakening (again, just to get it on the list)
-Constant breaks between events, including the six-week fiasco (see above)
-Barely any apology SCs for said breaks (etc.)

-Making Liana gacha (this annoys me so much that it needs to have its own separate point)
-Late Gold Rush (we got one gold rush in the time it took them to get four?)
-No revival or 1.5x events
-Late level milestones (it took us how many months for us to get the level 10 Iris?)
-Lack of Trading Post rotation
-Implementing revival/post-AW mechanics for first-time events (as far back as Dragon Invasion where Dragonewts did magic damage instead of physical damage, up to the current event with the swimming sahuagins' faster DPS)
-Certain units are stuck pre-buff (gonna need some help with elaborating on this, since I forget the specifics)
-No serial codes (possibly minor gripe, but most of Nutaku's other games have used this feature; you'd think the least they could do is give us codes for some gold units)

Now, what have devs done for us?
-Trading Post to start with (probably didn't make much difference since a lot of people don't have Chydis)
-Not counting the break in between, back-to-back Dragon Invasion events (difficulty of the event aside, we got Anya/Echidna a LOT sooner than expected)
-Early Bashira shrine change (though some would complain about this since they didn't get to farm the DCs needed fast enough)
-Early autocomplete (though we had to request this HEAVILY before it finally came)
-Barracks (came with autocomplete, very much a welcome addition to most veteran players)
-Updated goddess buffs (wasn't requested and came during a no-event period, but it made clearing War of Magic easier and helps lower-leveled teams compete in post-AW events/maps)
-Level 300 (again, pointless, seeing as most users have yet to hit level 200)
-x2 speed toggle, continuous combine, updated sprites, etc. (various inconsequential updates)

Anyone else have anything to add?
