So far the bug seems to only happen when I am active with the mouse. Once I figured out how to place my maidens (and who to place) in configurations where I never have to use the mouse for anything I stopped getting 'Game Not Valid' in Stage 5/6.

Yeah this is very irritating. I got this very frequently when I was running 3 ranged + 1 melee. For now I seem to be avoiding it by using 4 ranged with only occasional manual interventions for position.
