You could use it on the shop if you need to aim for someone specific, especially seeing as how there's no decent way to farm 2star girls other than gacha or diamonds in shop. Though I think premium gacha will give you a ton more shards for rerolling a girl you've already unlocked but there's still the possibility you may end up getting exp books instead.
