Any reason why these 2 games are closing? I thought DT:M was doing good?

DT:M's low in the rankings from what I can tell. But DS has been fairly high as of late. I can only guess that they're not being profitable enough.

Considering both games are closing, it makes me wonder if there could be an issue between nutaku and the game devs, since both are the same developers.

They will shut down other games soon, like the 2 hellfire girls, no update since may...

Hope it's not the end of all games...

Unfortunately, there's a very real chance that nutaku as a whole may not be faring well. Given how much content they have to remove or change because of Western bullshit laws and stuff, you can bet your ass that there are plenty of western players that stick to the JP site, especially since plenty of the games from there can't be brought here at all. Lots of games that, back when I was active on dmm, were damn popular, like Tentacle Tactics and especially the Asagi Battle Arena game can't be brought because of hardcore content including actual bestiality in the later one. I don't know how they rate now, but I doubt the Lilith game is going to lose fans any time soon.

Basically, Nutaku's fighting a losing battle, and trying to use a poor business model on a much smaller player base than what the JP site has available. The pay to win model won't work as effectively when the paying people have a better, if censored version of the game available to them on a different site.

So yeeeeeah... Valkyrie, which is still going on the JP site if I'm not mistaken, and now DT:M and DS... it's not looking good.

Something else to chew on is the fact that Nutaku needs to raise up separate dev teams for their games whereas DMM doesn't. This makes me wonder if their system can actually scale well since revenue would need to be insane to hire dedicated dev teams for each game (and that's really the only way I can see games being maintained to the level of their DMM counterparts).

But I think you're underestimating the size of the market. They aren't likely to be in danger of shutting down the service as a whole.

Well, I suppose I'd best look into DMM - at least for games that I want to invest any great amount of time or more than token amounts of money into. ...Since I know little about the site, how much Japanese would I need to know to navigate around there?

  8. These card games failed because they removed/replaced all the obvious loli cards in our Nutaku localized version.

Also the announcement that Nutaku will be taking over Aigis could point to why they are dropping the two card games that are not performing as well. They need the developers to be working on Aigis instead.

No, that's because the original devs don't want to hand over the game. They offered to take over and got declined.
