Is there a gacha?
You get a free gacha roll once per day where you can look through 4 new resumes and decide on an employee to hire. Each subsequent draw costs 10 employee stones. You do not get a better chance of drawing rarer employees while spending employee stones. Mailboxes can be used to boost the draw rate of the daily resume and any employee stone draws; mailboxes do not affect fairy envelopes.
Quests
What route should I pick in a quest?
When questing, you may be presented with different paths that you can take. The blue route generally corresponds to the easier path, and the red route is generally harder. Experience gained fom the red route is usually greater than that of the blue route. You may repeat a quest after clearing it and take the routes you missed at a later time.
When do the 60-minute limited quests happen?
Please refer to the relevant quest pages on the wiki:Below is a chart listing all limited quest event times (given in UTC).
Alternatively, use the timer here (maintained by a third party, no guarantee that times are accurate).

I can't find/use my employee!
Employees assigned to facilities or a party become unavailable for use elsewhere until you reassign them.
Is there a trick to get more CEO power during battle?
CEO power is restored at a rate of 1 per minute. If you are in the middle of a battle, you can close your game tab and wait until your CEO power is restored (it continues to replenish itself while out of the game). Upon reopening the game, you will be prompted to continue the current battle. It should also be noted that upon closing the game, the battle will continue as normal until the end of the current round (i.e. until your party has attacked the enemy, and they have attacked you), so you cannot use this trick to keep your employees alive if they originally would've been KO'ed at the end of the round.
Employees
My employee's level won't go up.
Employee levels are capped per rank. To continue levelling your employee, you must perform a Class Up.
- ★: capped at 10
- ★★: capped at 20
- ★★★: capped at 30
- ★★★★: capped at 50
- ★★★★★: capped at 70
What happens when you perform a takeover on the same employee?
You gain an Awakening bonus when taking over the same employee. Note that Takeover is not well suited to provide experience for your employees, so it is advised to only perform Takeovers for the Awakening bonus. All employees may be awakened up to 4 times. 5★ employees may be awakened up to 5 times.
How do I change my employee's skill?
Skills are dependent on which weapon your employee has equipped. Each weapon may have different skills for each improvement level (+0 to +3 for regular weapons, +0 to +4 for event weapons), and skills may also differ depending on whether your employee is located at the front row of the formation or the back row. It should be noted that fully upgraded weapons do not necessarily have the best skills.
Where can I grind or level up new employees?
Quest | Description |
---|---|
For new players, Drunkard on the Ship is the recommended farming spot. Coins often drop here as well, which can help with the initial lack of gold. | |
Chapter 3 increases in difficulty quite a bit from Chapter 2, but once you're able to effectively clear this quest it becomes an excellent location to farm experience and some materials. This quest has the best EXP/Bread ratio until Chapter 5. | |
None of the enemies in this quest attack your backline, so it may be useful for training new employees behind a tougher frontline. | |
This is a good quest to farm if your party has a strong Magician since the fights feature Banshees almost exclusively. Note that a Fallen Angel Banshee is part of the final fight in the blue path, so you may actually wish to take the red path if you cannot effectively handle it. | |
Both routes are viable for farming. The blue route features Pellabies and Wulfs while the red route features Slimers. Note that Slimers are vulnerable to magic attacks as they have low health, so the red route may be cleared quickly with several Magicians on the team. This quest guarantees 3 chest drops. | |
This quest has an excellent EXP/Bread ratio for its difficulty level. In addition, it drops every R9 recipe. It is recommended to farm this quest for the weapons before moving on to Chapter 10 as the weapons that drop in Chapter 9 are arguably subpar compared to the ones that drop here. | |
This is another good spot to train your backline. Note that the enemy has Banshees as healers, so be sure to take them out quickly to shorten the fight. | |
Transfer Portal can only be cleared effectively with a strong tank. It is not recommended to farm this quest until you have at least +2/+3 R9 armour and weapons for your Soldier and an experienced Cleric. Bringing a Rogue with Poison will make the quest quicker to clear, but it's still possible to clear without one. Once you're able to survive Siegrid's attack, the fights become relatively trivial. | |
The daily EXP events have a decent EXP/Bread ratio on average. In particular, there's a chance of encountering a Gold Bottle Slimer during your fights; fights involving Gold Bottle Slimers reward approximately 38,000 EXP. Other fights will range between 6,000 and 8,700 EXP. The Beginner version of this quest is not recommended unless you cannot effectively clear the Intermediate quest. |
Where can I find new 3★, 4★ or 5★ employees?
3★ and 4★ employees may drop in certain quests. 3★ employees appear to begin dropping at Chapter 2, while 4★ employees appear to begin dropping at Chapter 5. However, drop rates for these employees are arguably inconsistent, so you shouldn't waste time farming quests to obtain rare employees. 5★ employees do not drop in quests. They can only be obtained via resumes.
What's the probability of receiving a black envelope?
There aren't any official numbers. According to the Japanese wiki, recorded rates are 2-3% with mailboxes boosting this to 20% (take these numbers with a grain of salt). Other than using mailboxes, there are a few ways in which your resume composition could be affected.
- PR Division: it's unlikely that this facility provides a significant boost until level 20, and even then it's difficult to determine how much it actually helps.
- Employee Spotlight: each week a set of three employees are featured with an increased rate boost in every resume pull.
- Black Fairy Envelopes: special envelopes given as login rewards; each envelope gives you a choice between four black resumes.
How do I use mailboxes?
Mailboxes give you a rate boost for rarer employees for 15 minutes. When you log in, Ruka will prompt you to check the day's resumes if you haven't checked them for free. You can safely reject this and go to your inventory to use your mailbox first, then click "Hire employee" once again to do your pull. Note that the mailbox effect lasts beyond the daily reset, so you can actually make two free pulls with the same mailbox if you make a pull right before the daily resume resets itself at 04:00 UTC+0, then once again after the reset.
How do I change my employee's appearance?
Equipping armor or accessories doesn't change the appearance of your employee. Equipping different weapons will update your employee's model; event weapons will reskin your employee with an event-themed outfit. Otherwise, employee outfits will change with each Class Up you perform. Each class has the same set of outfits for each rank, but 5★ employees have unique skins matching their illustrations when fully ranked up.
Can I put two of the same employee in a party?
Yes, there's no restriction on which employees you can place in a party. You could theoretically have a 5-person party consisting of a single employee (if you really adore her).
Other
Can I use multiple hammers/mailboxes at the same time?
No, you cannot stack hammers, mailboxes, or the Scientific Thaumaturgy Forge.
Do limited time effects such as hammers expire when relogging?
No, these effects continue to count down while you're out of the game. If you return before the effect has expired, it will still be active.
I can't level up my facilities anymore.
All facilities are levelcapped. Please refer to the Facilities page for details. It should also be noted that no facility may exceed your current CEO level.
How do I get new recipes?
The Saturday recipe quests provide a decent number of recipes and aren't too difficult to clear. They can be especially helpful when you're just starting out, but the Beginner and Intermediate quests don't provide great equipment for endgame use. The Beginner quest unlocks after clearing Chapter 1 while the Intermediate quest unlocks after clearing Chapter 5. Each time you clear the quest, you're guaranteed a number of recipe drops. However, you may still get the same recipe twice (this has no further effect on your current recipes). The Hard recipe quest provides the best drops, but it only unlocks after clearing Chapter 10, so its usefulness is slightly diminished. Note that quests may drop recipes not listed as part of their "Rare Drop items".
Necromancer (1-8-8) in particular drops all R9 weapons and armor. The difficulty is slightly greater than that of the recipe quests, however the bread cost is much lower and the EXP rewards are much greater. Several useful crafting materials also drop here. It's recommended to grind this quest instead of the recipe quests if you wish to multi-task and level up your employees while farming for new recipes.

How do I get rare materials?
You may have to be patient while farming quests since drops are randomized. The Material Quest opens on Sundays, and features several quests for each type of rare material. Again, quests may drop materials not listed as part of their "Rare Drop items".
Materials such as Emerald, Rose Quartz and Diamond do not drop as part of the Material Quest. However, Gemstone Cave quests occur each day of the week and may provide you with gems that don't drop in the Material Quest. Please refer to the appropriate wiki page for when the quest opens each day. Rarer materials also drop in employee character stories (for 3★ to 5★ employees, for instance) with some materials dropping exclusively in character story quests. Note that Part 2 Chapter 2 features quests which drop a larger amount of materials compared to Part 1, so once you gain access to these quests it becomes easier to accumulate these materials.

How do I get Class Up materials?
Class Up materials will drop occasionally as you progress through the main quest. There is also the daily Class Quest. Different days of the week will feature different Class Up materials for each class, so you may wish to look up the quest details on the wiki to see which day you'll need to quest on. The Intermediate and Hard versions of the Class Quests will provide upper-level Class Up materials like crystals. Class hammers will also drop on any of the quests.
You can also get Class Up materials by dismissing employees. The materials you get via dismissal will depend on the rank of your employee. Note that it is possible to "exchange" lower level materials for higher level materials by ranking up employees then dismissing them.

How do I get more gold?
Quests will drop items that can be sold in addition to the gold reward for completion. In particular, coins and coin purses have no use other than to be sold for profit. Quests up to and including Chapter 3 will drop these items, but quests from Chapter 4 onwards will not; these items also drop in EXP UP Event quests, and purses are awarded for completing daily missions.
- Early on, you may stockpile a reasonable amount of gold by farming Drunkard on the Ship (1-2-6) and That Body Has Got to Be Mithril (1-3-5).
- It's also possible to mass craft equipment to sell for profit, however you must take into consideration material availability and cost.
- The Friday raw material quests have large gold rewards. The Intermediate and Hard quests have the better Gold/Bread ratio.
- Gems and stones sell well, but some are useful for crafting so it may be prudent to save enough for later use.
How do I get more bread?
Your Material Management Department is your main source of bread. Make sure to have as many employees working there as possible, preferably experienced Magicians you don't need as part of your formations as they have the highest INT out of all the classes. It's a good idea to equip all your bakers with a Bakery Apron as soon as possible. To supplement your bread supply, you can continuously clear the Phantom Labyrinth to get 200 bread as a reward. By alternating between the main quests (to get gold) and the Phantom Labyrinth (to get bread), you can keep questing for longer stretches of time.

What do numbers like 1-8-8 or 2-1-1 mean?
This is a shorthand used by players to refer to specific quests. The first part is the Part number, then the Chapter number, and then the Quest number. Putting it together, 1-8-8 is shorthand for (Part) 1-(Chapter) 8-(Quest) 8.
What does R9 or R10 mean?
Rn refers to equipment of a certain level (or its "rank", though this terminology is not official). Generally, higher numbers are better than lower numbers. R7 equipment is likely the first decent equipment you will encounter, but R8-R10 armor are elemental. Hence, they can actually be less resistant to certain attacks compared to R7 armor. Note that Labyrinth and event equipment are not part of this ranking (only drops from the main quest are included). To view a weapon droplist, click here. For an armor droplist, click here.
Can I change my company's name?
You can purchase a Rename Roll from the Shop for 20,000 gold. Each Rename Roll is good for one name change, but you can change your name as many times as you like by purchasing new rolls from the Shop.
