Yeah, that very well might be the case.
I think I'll still hold onto my stack of FGs until the 2nd half of this event comes around.
If no discounted gacha comes by then, I think I'll spend the 2400+ I have now on normal gachas.
One thing I haven't translated for myself yet - there are some additional messages about 22 FGs on each available gacha - it might be worth looking into. I don't remember them being there before.

EDIT:
It seems that's just the notice about 22 rainbow shards we get for rolling the gacha.
I must've forgotten about it since I haven't rolled it in quite a while.
