Actually his advice of what teams to use and summary of how bosses work is really useful, don't think anyone sees it as flexing aside from you. Besides, you can get teams that strong without whaling anyway.

Yeah, spending money is by no means necessary in order to build solid teams. I've only been playing for a little over three months and I've spent no money yet I have more than enough strong Knights to fill out four solid squads. Whether it was via 90 FG (Kugaisou), good luck in gachas (Ghost Weed, Pygmy Lily, Swimsuit Sakura), 'bonus' rewards from the developers (Colchicum), Rarity Growth (Black Locust) or tickets (Mei Plumblossom/Ume), I ended up with strong Knights that didn't lighten my wallet. I also got June Bride Lotus at some point but I don't remember if that was via gacha or a ticket. On top of that I almost have enough RG crystals to promote another 5* Knight and I'm closing in on enough rainbow coins to pick up a 6* Knight.

That said, 5* Knights can also hold their own, even if all you do is get them 100% first affection and level 80 bloomed or get them 100% second affection and level 70 evolved.
