When you buy stamina with a Flower Gem, your maximum stamina is added to your current stamina, and overflow is possible when you do that. However, you (obviously) won't gain more stamina from ticks until you go below your maximum stamina again. So with 14/230 stamina, and using an FG, you end up with 244/230 stamina.
Dunno if you can use another FG then to get to 474/230 stamina, since it'd be a waste because you'd miss several stamina ticks while doing maps before it replennishes by itself again.
