Every so often while performing a gathering, I see a small figure running along the top of the background area shortly before the gathering ends, sort of keeping pace with my assistant. It isn't there every time, and so far I haven't noticed it enough times to figure out if it's tied to receiving a certain reward. Does anyone know the significance of it?

It means you found a gold chest rather than a regular brown one, which gets you higher-quality stuff.
