They could compensate everybody by handing out 30-50 flower gems. But they'll probably compensate with some gacha requiring 150 flower gems..

A guaranteed 5* for 5 gems would be nice. Same as when the game launched.
The code for that is already implemented in the game after all, they would not give anything "for free" and players both new and old would be glad to get another 5* to upgrade/add to their team.
Everyone is happy.

You know whats shitty? The popularity contest is cancelled and yet, there's no announcement of it anywhere in game, twitter, or facebook. Shouldn't the uniformed masses know this??? I'll bet you that there's some herd of whales blindly throwing money at their waifu in that futile hope of getting a bridal version that now will never be.

The real question is, if DMM is afraid of uniques in our version stealing their playerbase, why did they agree to potentially make new brides in the first place? They didn't think about that? Well, tough luck. It's not kindergarten, you can't just say "Ah, screw it.", take everything back and it's as if nothing happened. (Oh, wait... It seems you can.)
Or Nutaku just didn't bother to ask them?

Looks like they didn't ask and assumed they could replicate the popularity bride contest without thinking that if different girls get selected someone has to draw them out, or they thought it was not going to be an issue and still didn't ask. It really isn't that big of an issue, other than another company telling you what you need to do, which like I said it is most likely the reason it got cancelled.

Doesn't really make sense to me to have this event in the first place if they didn't think they could afford those artists.

Basically, this ^ it was an exceptionally unprofessional move whomever requested the cancellation. As it has been mentioned, the jp version would have recieved our version of the brides eventually = not unique content for us. Would love to see them admit to the whole reason behind the backpeddle, as jp devs surely must have realised they would get the brides we voted for eventually?
